Will Utah ever get the All Star game again?

They just announced Houston got it for 2013, and they just had it in 2006. Utah is coming up on 20 years. Doesn't seem too fair when each city could use the boost.

They'd probably have to build a new arena, which I don't think will happen for quite some time. And by the way, could you and your little buddy please button up your shirts? You're creeping me out.

Maybe we could throw some fancy new paint on the old grey warehouse, and promise them Marie Osmond or something.
 
Why would the Jazz have to build a new arena?? Their seating capacity is above average of other NBA teams. And old grey warehouse? It was built in the early 90's and is one of the newer arenas in the NBA. Just because you were born in 95 doesnt mean that everything that came before you is outdated. It just means that your still a little baby with a lot to learn.
 
Instead of building a new arena, they could probably throw several million into ESA with a big remodel and get the All-Star game back.
 
It won't happen. I remember seeing Stern asked this specific question point blank and his reaction seemed to be that he was stifling laughter. His actual response wasn't much more encouraging.

Just because I've been to more games in the Salt Palace then years you've slimed around this planet is no reason to be jealous.

I think someone didn't do his research.
 
I actually decided to look up NBA arenas' ages just to see how totally wrong slapper is.

The DC/ESA is the 6th oldest arena in the league, trailing only Madison Square Garden (icon), Palace of Auburn Hills (Pistons), Bradley Center (Bucks), Arco (team almost moved because of its age), Oracle Arena (somewhat of a local icon in the Bay area), and the Target Center (T'wolves, one year older).

What a terrible arena name, and I thought our new one sucked.
 
Randy Rigby was on 1320 a few months ago talking about Energy Solutions age and the recent upgrade they did to the locker rooms, etc. He said he felt the current upgrades will make the arena feasible for about another 15 years, but he said at that point the Jazz orginization would have to look at building a new one. It would be interesting to see where they built a new one. There's really no place close to the current downtown location unless you leveled Energy Solutions and build a new on in the same spot. However, if you do that, where do the Jazz play over the course of those couple of years? Huntsman Center?
 
I think the ESA's location is probably the most valuable location in all of Salt Lake City, and one of the easier locations to access when trying to maneuver around SLC. I would only advocate a new arena if it were in the same spot, or they put it where Pioneer park is. The last thing I want is putting a new arena in West Valley or something.
 
That's one thing I will always be grateful to my father for. Taking me to the all-star game as a kid.
 
Stern said that the All Star Game likely wouldn't happen in any "cold weather" cities. I bet they would make the exception for New York or Brooklyn when that comes, but Utah, Denver, Toronto, Minny, Milwaukee.. Probably Portland are all SOL. same with Cleveland, Chicago.

i'm surprised that the United Center in Chicago isn't older than the ESA. I went to a game there last March and thought it was a complete crap hole.
