What's new

Will Utah ever get the All Star game again?

I think the ESA's location is probably the most valuable location in all of Salt Lake City, and one of the easier locations to access when trying to maneuver around SLC. I would only advocate a new arena if it were in the same spot, or they put it where Pioneer park is. The last thing I want is putting a new arena in West Valley or something.

The Pioneer Park idea is pretty interesting. I've always thought it would be cool that if the Jazz did build a new arena, they look into putting it as high up on the hill as they could. With that being said, I LOVE the location of ESA. Coming down from the north to see games, it's just so easy to get in and out of town.

Putting a new arena in West Valley, Sandy, etc. would be an awful idea and I hope it never happens.

Even coming in from the South, it is close to EVERYTHING and is so easy to hop back on I-15.

Not just I-15, but TRAX. They just nearly doubled the size of the system and I'm pretty sure the main reason the entire network exists is to get people to and from Jazz games, isn't it?

That's technically the reason... I don't think Larry H. wouldn't have put his support behind it, unless it was gonna help keep filling up the seats at the DC. And Miller's support was probably the major push to get the trax ball rolling.

The plot Pioneer park is located on is actually bigger than the one ESA is on. Although because PP is right off the highway, there would have to be some traffic rerouting to get it done, but to develop that part of town from **** to niceness would greatly improve the character of SLC

I hadn't thought about Pioneer Park as a possible new location. I guess they could build a new arena there and demolish the ESA and replace it with a new Pioneer Park. The only problem would be where do all the homeless go for those couple years?

They'd have to make the trek to Ogden or Provo ( :) ). If a major attraction developed on that immediate south side of the current ESA (one of the last remaining lagging portions of SLC) I would say SLC would be damn close to "Ascend up to Heaven" status.

Hell if SLC ever got a pro-baseball team, put it on Pioneer Park (call the park Pioneer Park), keep the current ESA location, and if there is a need for a new basketball arena (although the truth of the matter is that the current ESA is far from being as dumpy as some other arenas in the league) the Jazz could play at Mariott or Huntsman for a season.

They'd all hop a train and rioll on to greener pastures. We'd want to shut down the shelter and soup kitchen at the same time to really root them out.

Come on guys, you all know that my hometown of Tooele will be the next destination for the Jazz. We've got it all: 7 stoplights, a fish-food factory, tracks to be on the wrong side of, a pioneer museum and a Super Walmart. It just makes sense.

I believe Stern has been quoted as saying that ASG will never again take place in a cold city. SLC in February is a bit warmer than NYC, so let's see how long that holds up.

Well look who it is! About time you came back. I was afraid since you moved to NY you were too busy buying scarves, tight jeans and pointy shoes and this new life had kept you from attending Jazz Fanz.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to kwb again.

Now tell me how the **** that happens. I ain't posted in a month, and the JF wizards are still holdin' this **** over my head?

PS: These pointy shoes look awwwwwwesome with my new ****in' haircut!

As long as said pointy shoes are made of Alligator skin then we are good. And the haircut? Let me guess, fawk hawk with some blonde highlights in random places?
