win a game - lose an hour - official game thread

Corbin's over-playing the vets on the false notion that it's the team's best bet at making the playoffs. The notion that the Jazz have any business in playoffs, or that it's even in the team's best interest to make the playoffs at all is asinine.

We're rebuilding on youth and this asshat leaves them riding pine.

I'm still completely baffled that the Millers handed him the reigns without letting him truly prove himself. This team needs a change of philosophy, and that means getting Corbin and any other Sloan disciple (yeah, even Hornacek) off the payroll.

Okay maybe not Hornacek.

Whoa, what the hell? Boozer and no Noah yet our frontcourt sucked?

good hell folks.... With Boozer and Omer down low, Jefferson AND Millsap should have gone off for at least 30 points and 80 % shooting.

Kyle Korver, 26 points? How is that even possible? The kid couldn't do that in a 3 point shooting competition with unlimited balls and without a timer.

Whoa, even more WTF moments. Kanter is hardly playing. CJ got 23 minutes... And Favors had only 1 attempt?

Is Corbin a complete dumbass?

Holy **** man....

Favors is the kind of guy that would have given Boozer hell. Length, athleticism, a few nice skills....

I am just speechless with the kid of stupidity we're seeing out of this organization.

This organization is too soft. Actually they suck badly.

Players like Raja and CJ were supposed to play limited minutes from the beginning of the season.

A better rotation of the bigs.

Develop the young.

And now we have a lot of frustration, a Kanter, Burks and Favors out of shape and confidence.

Good Job Ty.

Not sure how this surprises people. Did we really think Corbin was going to be any or much different from Sloan? He coached under the guy for God's sake. Upon his promotion, I called him Sloan 2.0. He needs to be fired this off-season but won't be because the organization likes what it knows in that regard, is loyal for no good reason, and should we go about 29-37 or better, that'll be seen as a success (better than our Vegas O/U line), and the FO will rationalize how we had a mediocre Harris, no perimeter shooting, and so many young guys, and thus how Corbin did a solid job overall especially in his first full year as a head coach. They'll rationalize that more time together will build chemistry and that we should see strong organic growth and that Corbin should be better as well. And ultimately, in the middle of next season, as we sit around 22-20 or some ****, they'll extend him for another two years.

Predictable. And sad.

****ing shoot me.

Had to feel good for Korver to light up the Jazz.

Vintage CJ Miles line 23 minutes. 1-7, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 4 points. No wonder he is getting more time that Burks (19 minutes. 4-8, 3 rebounds, 11 points)

Happy b-day Moe.

Also did anybody expect a win, seriously? Last of a 5 game roadie on the end of a back to back that coincidentally started last week (Fri-Sat) on a back to back home against MIA and away against DAL. Never mind the fact that the Bulls came in with the best record and fresh off a loss 2 nights before so losing 2 in a row should be a no brainer right.
It's obviously all Corbins fault cause just last year he beat this same team in the ESA, beat them so bad he retired and DWill decided he would leave as there was nothing left to accomplish with Utah.

Not saying he did a good job but there isn't anything he could've done to help the Jazz win this game. Booz & Korver shoot lights out (Millsap slowed him down with a few TO's but that was about it). Also Kanter's had a very poor road trip, not surprising for a rookie happens all the time in the NBA, hopefully he gets it turned around soon.

I've heard that Kanter has been sick the last few days.... I wonder if that has affected his play?

I don't think losing is what's irritating Jazz fans. It's HOW we're losing....

No one can hit a jumper, vets continue to play too much, no offense designed to involve Hayward, Kanter, Favors, Millsap, etc just an offense designed to throw it to Jefferson and watch him chuck, no adjustments, no brains (like isolating Korver against Burks and let Burks go to work...) etc......

I think most of us would be down with losing if it meant seeing the youngsters play more, seeing an offense designed to help put players in successful positions, and seeing us exploit matchups. If Favors is being played by someone like... Boozer. Then we need to throw the ball to Favors EVERY SINGLE TIME. Instead, Favors got 1 shot attempt the entire game against Chicago.

That's unacceptable.

I agree that I thought it would've been good as a change of pace to iso Korver (especially when he was on Burks) or go at Booz especially on the P&R and even more so with Hayward if/when Korver was on him.
