With Dallas and Lakers Losing Tonight...

The WORST thing would be for the Jazz to make the playoffs. Jefferson Corbin need to go. If they make it. O'genius will keep em both. Not a good thing. Also the draft pick would be worse making it harder to draft a legit player.

I'm pretty sure Al is gone regardless, it's Ty who would most certainly get a vote of confidence and a new deal when his contract is up.

I think the benefit of Corbin getting fired is far greater than the benefit of the young guys playing 15 minutes a game for four playoff games.

Isn't the definition of insanity ...... would be funny to watch Pop throw fits again while beating us by double digits again ... Dallas and Lakers need the playoff's far more then we do... ask yourself do you really think we will win the big prize with what we have?

sorry guys but i wanna make the playoffs. unlike a lotta you wimps who want them to lose.

Beating out the Lakers for the playoffs means everything for me. Plus I believe we'll sneak out a few wins vs. San Antonio.

By the way, I'm Jewish, so i'm far from a racist. Our people and Haddadi's people aren't the best of friends and now he's crippled one of our Big 4, not happy one bit.

being down 0-2 against the spurs.
then jefferson quitting, saying stuff like spurs are uinbeatable.
yet game 3 he will get 45 minutes. leading to a sweep?

NO THANKS
BEEN THERE DONE THAT

Yes. Because losing to San Antonio 2-4 would be so awesome...

Remember how much hype the 8 seeded Thunder got when they lost to the 1 seeded Lakers 2-4 in 2010? They became the poster child of the NBA and have been getting preferable treatment from David $tern ever since.

...well that won't happen for the Jazz, because no one cares about the Jazz or the Spurs.

sad.

difference was okc young guys got a lot of playing time.
it helpt propel them to contenders.
if jazz played there cards right i we would have been a 4-5th seed by now.

then maybe in a year or 2 wcf

Doesn't it make you hate that scumbag terrorist Haddadi even more?

Kanter's a Muslim. Although he is Turk, he has the looks of an Armenian Arabian Turkish Persian Afghan guy that has the body of an African American.

By the way, I'm Jewish, so i'm far from a racist.

Jewish people care more about race and religion than any social group I know.

You cannot be friends with someone that you use excessive force to wipe out.

....well, we are torn here, aren't we! On one hand, it would be GREAT to have the Lakers miss the playoffs even though they attempted to "stack a deck" with Nash and Howard! Nobody saw this coming, that's for sure! The flip side is having the Jazz make the playoffs, getting swept by double digits in 4 games, and then have the front office keep Corbin and possibly sign Jefferson again, which as you stated would be a long shot, but still a possibility. Even if the Jazz do make the playoffs, we're not going to get all 4 games on national television! You know 2 possibly 3 of those games will get deep 6ed on NBA TV which very few of us get!

Making the playoffs does NOTHING for this team. The reason is simple: The players that Corbin likes to play won't be here next year.

Foye
Mo
Millsap
Al

4 of our 5 starters have a really good chance of not being here.

Add to the list of potential players gone:

Carroll
Marvin
Tinsley
Watson

Giving Favors 15 mins of garbage time doesn't help anything. Hayward would benefit from 25 mins of playoff basketball, but this team would do get a MUCH greater benefit from a top 10 pick over an *** kicking by OKC or SA.

Meh, this draft is gonna be pretty weak.

That 8 seeded Thunder also won almost 50 games I believe. The Thunder played very well in that series and I believe if we actually turned the team over to the young guys right now, like OKC did, we could have a season/playoff series like that shortly.

Palestinians might have something to say about that...

Exactly. I'm thinking big picture all the way. Limping into the playoffs for an *** pounding does not help us.
You know that if we made the playoffs after the first game or two we get owned almost everyone would be wishing we had the lotto pick. It's hard because a lot of us are competitive, and don't want to give in.

We must sacrifice the competitive spirit, and think realistically here. What is better for our long term goals?
The choice is clear.

Does making the playoffs hurt the team though? I understand the arguments that it doesn't help, but what does it hurt? Last year I understood the arguments for missing the playoffs so we'd get the draft pick, but this year we get our pick regardless right? So, isn't it a difference between picking 14 and picking 15 with a playoff series?

I've seen some people imply it would encourage the team to re-sign some of the starters or keep Corbin, but I don't think barely getting the 8 seed or just missing out on the 8th seed will tip the scales in either direction. I think the front office has a plan that isn't contingent on whether or not the Jazz get the 8 seed.

That's the way I was leaning, but with Kanter injured I've lost some enthusiasm for getting the C4 more playoff experience.
I hope Kanter doesn't rush back for the playoffs and jeopardize his long term viability.
If the Jazz miss the playoffs , there is a small chance that they could win the lottery for a top 3 pick, not a possiblity for a playoff team.
