What's new

With the 47th Pick, Kevin Murphy

I know, I know, how dumb of me to prefer a guy who led the country in assists when we have no point guard for the future. I'm a moron.

Because EVERY college player averages the same amount of assists in the pros then in college.

Jazz obviously scouted him, and don't consider him an NBA point guard. They probably looked at more than his assists per game during his senior season, too.

People understand the 47 pick isn't a lotto right? I mean, do they? Seriously? Anybody?

I don't think they do.

Also, Murphy is 6'6 without shoes, probably 6'7.5 w/ shoes. Dude has great size for a 2/guard and can probably play 3 if the opposing 3 isn't a powerhouse.

Did you know three people have more career assists at Gonzaga than John Stockton? Obviously 15,000 will be broken any day now.

Look, it's obvious that Mr. Mantooth has watched somewhere between 0 and 20 total minutes of game film on either of these two players and is now an expert. He might be right, he might be wrong, but he's really just flipping a coin very very adamantly.

These are the line ups I see for the Jazz next year:

Harris
Hayward
Carroll
Millsap
Favors

Off the bench:

Watson
Burks
Murphy
Evans
Kanter

Thoughts?

If he can become a 3 point specialist that can play some defense I like it. Know nothing about him though, but with a second round pick it's hard to care too much.

The fact that the Jazz worked him out and didn't draft him (with PG being a perceived position of future need) probably says he isn't that good.

If this kid can play SF, I absolutely LOVE THE PICK. If he can only play SG, I'm confused unless Burks is actually becoming a PG or if Hayward is our SF
