With the Fifth Pick... Dante Exum

;)

Is there an estimated time when you become a Orlando Magic fan now?

No, actually hate Gordon on that team.

Payton/Oladipo/Gordon/Harris/Fournier/Harkless are all really intriguing players, but none of them can shoot. They have put together a track-star team and it will be interesting, but where is the floor spacing?

With Dante here If we were to somehow sign Patty Mills the Jazz would instantly become Australia's favorite team. That team would draw attention from non basketball followers, tbh.

theres gonna be a preview of the Aussie invasion at this summers FIBA's

We need to sign Lil Brother. Is he a FA or is he still signed on golden state? Are they looking to shop him since he's always injured or hold onto him because he's their defensive anchor?

The Trifactor would be complete with Mills and Lil Brother.

Mills, Exum, Lil Brother.

What about T-Mac like marketing value?

Played in Toronto/Orlando/Houston.

Toronto and Houston are two HUGE cities. Orlando isn't big, but it's not a marketing blackhole like Utah is. Plus McGrady was also a scoring champion, or in the battle for the crown, multiple times.

I saw the same thing in Los Angeles. For one whole week. Then, everybody went back to being a Kobe stylist. Sickening.

I'm not sure I've really noticed an increase in the amount of good basketball being played, but I've noticed it being recognized and bragged about WAY more often.

Oladipo is a capable shooter. Was 44% in Indiana. 33% last year, and I think his shooting is going to improve judging by his form, work ethic and stuff. Tobias Harris has also potential in that area.
But in general I think you're right and I was super surprised about that pick.

I don't know nothing about college ball players but the consensus is that this guy is good and Hood is just as good. I will support both of them until I don't. Did anyone see that one IG picture of Burkes next to Exum? Exum was so much ****ing taller.

Also, there are some users in this thread that, I believe, suffer from mental issues.

McGrady won the scoring championship 2 years in a row in 02-03 he averaged 32.1ppg iirc.

From the perspective of a Magic fan i really dont like this draft. Elfrid Payton is a great prospect and he wasnt a reach, they gave up far too much to move from 12 to 10.

Aaron Gordon is going to be playing way more PF than many posters here expected.

Orlando has the pieces in place to play some devastating perimeter defense.

Payton - Oladipo - Harkless - Gordon is quite the combination.

Evan Fournier will be a big factor for them though, it was funny to me seeing posters downplay his value yesterday. Its said the Magic turned down #24 and Gerald Henderson for Afflalo.

This is a bit risky but an interesting pick. Decent defender and the quickest first-step since Kobe.

He's going to score a lot of points inside. If we keep Hayward we're going to have some nice passes!

I look forward to our next two picks!

Please speak more to the idea of this being risky...

Still need to trade for Bogut...

After a night to sleep off whatever that just was....

I'm ok with the pick. He was the best fit/player for us left @ 5. I'm not convinced he is going to be special. He's not a sure thing, and has a lot of question marks.
Watching videos of him I'm liking his speed in the open court. His shooting is suspect, but his form looks decent. I think he'll be a solid shooter eventually.

He going to be interesting to watch in summer league that is for sure. Can't wait to see Burke and him in Vegas. Hopefully, they can build a little early chemistry.

I'm happier with him than had we got Noah, Smart, or Randle.

Let's hope we get lucky, and picked a stud.

Was there a "sure thing" in the top 5?

No

Of any player we've drafted I think I'm most looking forward to seeing Exum play... because we really don't know what to expect!

I think he's going to be able to score at will inside (this is great since this is a weakness of Burke's) and improve our fast break game and I think he's going to improve his shooting pretty easily.

He seems like a composed, intelligent guy.
