With the Fifth Pick... Dante Exum

Well im glad you found some games with 15 assists and triple doubles and stuff.
Makes me feel better for sure.

I have never been this torn on a draft pick before. Usually i love em or hate em and once in a while feel meh about em. With exum i know so little of him and we had to tank to get him in a really deep/good draft.

I really hope he works out. If he busts it will be one of the worst picks in jazz history.

Im glad most people are really excited about him and the experts really like him.

Fwiw i thought it was the right pick and still do.... but only because of what the experts were saying. When i see highlights i see leandro barbosa (like somebody else said) alot more than westbrook or penny hardaway

I've seen someone else post this I just SMH. Other than speed what is similar? He is taller and heavier than him at eighteen, has far better vision, has elite control of his body after contact. I could go on and on, but it's really pointless because they are NOTHING alike.

Its not just about the numbers though because some kids play in low talent areas, Thats how BJ Mullens became the #1 Player in the class of '08.

How these top players matchup in camps means alot, scouts are watching. Thats usually how the big moves happen.

Dante didnt avoid that process, he was one of the big winners from it.

Dante KILLED IT at the Adidas Nations camp summer of 2012 In LA, at 6'4. Adidas is the one who signed him to a shoe deal. Heres some footage from that camp

Dude got that Kobe ball tuck when driving to the hoop down!!!

Maybe people have talked about it and I just haven't found it but I thought he and Hood had a great press conference and interviews after.

For Exum on his endorsements, I can see why bigger markets would make them happier. However as a Jazz fan I'm excited that he already has more commercials than anybody on the Jazz since DWill and even DWill didn't have that many. My opinion is if they make good commercials and it shows his charisma people will like him anyway and it wont really matter about the small market, obviously to keep making these commercials he will need to show some flashes that he can play.

My point is just look at reality TV starts (I hate this example as I H A T E reality TV) but they aren't famous for anything they just had to have been seen on TV and people to like them. So if the sponsors want to make money then stay the course trust people would still like him going off his charisma and personality and keep making those funny commercials.

Let's make them scan their passports for access to Jazzfanz and then steal their identities

This guy is really raw. All he ever does is dunk and shoot 3s. He doesn't look like he has many moves, that great of handle, or multiple gears. He basically just runs as fast as he can and jumps as high as he can.

Is it possible he was a bigger d bag in high school than in the pros? :0

No, he seems to communicate with teammates.

Ive really looked hard for his HS stats for months now... they are tough to find, I have 2 boxscores from HS games posted in the game footage thread. One of those games i have the Video posted, he got 15 assists that game.

I know he was dropping triple doubles vs that type of competition.

That's why he's the international man of mystery.

I'm fairly convinced at this point that Dante Exum will be the greatest player in the history of the NBA

Seems about right ;)

Aussies must bring Lift with them. Being craving that stuff for years. I prefer lemon.

TIA

Did the Jazz get the best player in the draft?

Well summer league will definitely be a lot more exciting this season with our new draft picks on full display. I'm ready to see what exactly what we got in these two young guns.
