This extension will give us at least 3-4 years before we decide to blow it up.
It’s entertainment. It’s value is set by the consumers willing to pay for the product. How much does Tom Cruise get for making a movie?
If someone does not like making minimum wage then they should do something about it. I did. Happy to give pointers to anyone on how to get there. Have done it many times, haven’t found that many people willing to walk the path I did. There are plenty of other paths. I chose not to live the way I was raised. Has no clue what I was doing, but in this country if you fight and hustle, good things will happen. If you complain and then show up for that same min wage job... we’ll go look in the mirror.

Just because I’m right. The first player to ever sign a player option deal, meaning, he pushed hard for the player option. Dude has a foot out the door, and y’all can deny it, until that trade request comes.
It’s literally not the standard. It has never happened until today under the current CBA. Congrats. I was off by a year. He wanted the full 5 years of guaranteed money, but he sure didn’t want the full 5 guaranteed years in Utah.

Holy **** you need to get a hobby or get laid or something. You're stressed about something an NBA player MIGHT do in 5 years. He plays through his 4 years then opts out and says he wants to leave, then what? What are you going to do about it?
Here's how I see it. He's going to be 29 during the season he can opt out of his contract. Seems like the perfect time to get a new 5 year contract or a 2+1 so he can get the 10 year vet supermax as soon as he possibly can.
But sitting here acting like it's the end of the world because he signed a 4+1 instead of a 5 year is nonsensical. He signed a contract extension not demand a trade. Even then if he did do that what are you going to do about it? Cry about it on the internet?
Enjoy the next 5 years of Don being on the Jazz instead of what may or may not happen in the future.
Tatum and every other rookie will do the same thing. This lines up timing better for future contracts regardless of where they play. Assuming he has a foot out the door is ignorant.

Oneye or One"bad"eye or Badeye or whatever was saying before that Don would bolt as soon as possible. Here were Don's options (the number on the left represents guaranteed years under contract):
- 2 years: Play out the current contract (this year and next)
- 3 years: Sign a 2 year extension (this year and two more years)
- 3 years: Sign a 3 year extension with a 3rd year player option
- 4 years: Sign a 3 year extension with no player option
- 4 years: Sign a 4 year extension with a 4th year player option
- 5 years: Sign a 4 year extension with no player option
*** 5 years: Sign a 5 year extension with a player option ***
- 6 years: Sign a 5 year extension with no player option
*** - the contract he signed
The last one, in bold, is the only choice he could have made where was guaranteed to stay longer. So he passed up on 6 other routes that could let him leave quicker and passed on only 1 route where he would stay longer. The fact that Badeye thinks this is a sign that Don wants to leave is absolutely ignorant. Don clearly is not showing any desire to leave.
Donovan pushing for a PO doesnt mean anything other than he knows he has Utah by the balls. Doesnt mean he is going/wants to leave, it just means he knows he can exert a lot of control on the franchise.
