WOJ: Korver to Jazz for Burks and 2 second rounders

I mean it's also just math.

Not necessarily statistical models try to model number to show a patterns. Those patterns can help you make decisions. But, as the league shifts to follow these models the data shifts. Thus, the league is working on its own self fulfilling prophecy. There are too many variables for it to be just math. It is Frankensteined statistics.

I'm not saying the three point shooters don't add space. They just add space to the amount you choose to guard them. Now we have one amazing shooter. I doubt one player that only does one thing has enough gravity to open up the floor. The rest of our team still can't shoot.

Which is why Korver is a step in the right direction but we still need to upgrade Rubio.

He isn’t a stand still guy though. There is a difference between him and a guy like OP jr.

Multiple guys will have to locate Kyle because he can catch and shoot off of screens. It puts a huge pressure point on the defense. We really don’t have anyone that does that.

Watch Korver work over a screen on a dribble handoff and not where the opposing big is... watch a Gobert and anyone dribble handoff and see where the big is... if Korver can be passable on defense he’s a huge help.

Possibly but what we really need are play makers. Like Beal. Korver is old and one dimensional. The Warriors are the Warriors because they have a mix of shooters with shooting playmakers. Durant and Curry are playmaking shooters. Where as Thomas is just a shooter Korver style. That mix is impossible to stop. Where as we are having everyone shot just to take threes. No one is going to the glass because our long rebounds are helping start other teams fast breaks.

I hope your right and Quin uses him this way. Because right now our offense is a mess. We traded away our second best slasher on the team.

I'm not against Korver. I loved him when we had him here last time. I just didnt want to see Burks one of my favorite players on the team moved unless we got someone really good in return like Beal or Porter. Now maybe we had no chance. But, this move seems like a panicky win now move verses continuing to build around Mitchell and Gobert.

I agree with you that we need more "creators". However, it was blatantly obvious that Quin had zero faith in Burks being our missing piece.

So yes, Korver helps in what we want to do. But also yes, we need another guy or two who can generate when things bog down. Finding that guy might be difficult which is why we need to be bold in identifying potential options. This logic is why I'm open to the idea of Fultz. If he were to figure it out both mentally and physically, our potential is so ridiculously high.

I listen to a podcast "The Rights to Ricky Sanchez." It is a Sixer pod cast that is hilarious. I don't think that we have the ability to develop someone so lost. We are having trouble with Exum. How could we do anything to help Fultz. I think we have overrated the Jazz coaching staff developmental skill. But, I'm not against going after Fultz. What do you think it would take?

Do you have a plan to get Beal? I’m all ears.

I can see that... I think the future value in having Kyle is that we get to see what those guys look like with more shooting around them. I also don’t think AB was coming back and we have a butt load of expirings so I didn’t see us robbing anything from the future for current success. We saved enough cash to buy a second rounder next year so I just don’t see the acquisition price as anything to worry about.

It would be nice to see the team move in a direction that clearly fits the long term build and that has big impact... but that rarely happens in season.

First off, I don't think Exum has any bearing whatsoever on Fultz. Sure, I wish we could do better with Exum but that doesn't mean we don't take a chance with any high potential struggling PG/SG. If you never take a chance, it's like what Gretzky said - you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. We pay Thabo and Udoh $9 million to do nothing. I'm perfectly fine giving similar money to a guy with the upside of Fultz.

I do have concerns about Fultz. As for Fultz's yips, I think they could be fixed. The kid is incredibly explosive. And sure he isn't a great shooter right now, but he is 4/14 from 3 this year. Last time I checked, that's 4 more 3 pointers than Simmons has ever hit. If Fultz has been cleared medically (from his staff AND anything our medical staff would review), I think he is definitely worth a shot.

Additionally, we all know Ben Simmons is a prick and it's his team from a PG perspective. Even if Fultz was good, I think there would be friction there. So I don't think he was in a situation where everybody was on board with the pick, supportive, etc. He was odd pick for that lineup anyway. Plus, Philly fans and media are relentless and impatient.

I would probably offer something like Thabo, Bradley, a 2nd and a top 8 protected pick for Fultz. It doesn't give Philly a good player for Fultz, but it does give them a guaranteed 1st rounder this summer (we won't go below 8), a useful Thabo for depth, and a cheap center with potential.

Heard a bit of the Ingles interview on 1280 this morning. I would not characterize Joe's reaction to the trade as positive. The Kool-Aid sippers could argue he was neutral on the topic. Unless I missed a part I would say neutral is a stretch.

He loved AB... they are friends... is he supposed to be stoked his friend is gone?
