Woj says the Jazz are listening to offers for Mitchell

If we do trade Mitchell I expect it to be to the Knicks. They want Donovan so badly. And we'll still have a solid team and will have like 10 freaking 1st round picks (not including ours) between Rudy and DM being traded.

If we play this right we'll be flush with assets and our team will have depth. And MN and NY unprotected picks could land us some high picks.

The fact the Knicks punted on their lottery pick when they could have drafted Jalen Williams or Jalen Duren says a lot.

If that’s the best offer then I’m fine keeping him and doing this stupid rebuild around Donovan crap.

Zero shot that’s the best offer. Miami will offer Herro, 3 1sts, 3 pick swaps and their 1st round pick this year (Jovic). Knicks need to beat that at minimum.

Bad take. Barrett is going to be super good. He’s the Shai in our George deal.
He is basically the same age right now as Mitchell when we drafted him. I think its like 60 days difference. He has a big upside. I am not sure if he will completely get there but he has the potential.

I would be very happy if we ended up with Barrett, Toppin, Filler (dont care which player), 2 unprotected 1sts and 2 swap picks. More picks would be crazy good for the Jazz but I could see it, more likely those picks would have to be top 10 or something protected. Any unprotected pick in the future from the Knicks is worth a lot.

That’s not even close to enough.

25-year old with 3 years on his contract still and he averages 26/5/4.

For the record I don’t care about Barrett. Would rather have more picks.

He’s really good. TS% stinks but I attribute that to a terrible supporting cast, pg play specifically. But 20.0/5.8/3.0 with a respectable 3 point percentage for a kid who just turned 22 is a lot to work with. He’s got a great NBA body too. If nothing else, he could easily be flipped for a 1st or two.

And at worst, don’t include him and the Knicks run out:
Brunson
Mitchell
Barrett
Randle
Robinson

…which if motivated, could win 50+ games. Barrett leaves a big void though.

I tend to agree. I'm a big Obi Toppin fan; still think his best ball is ahead of him by a massive stretch. If we could swap Barrett for another 1-2 more firsts (at least one unprotected), that would be my preference.

Barrett has potential to be better than Mitchell and I think pretty soon. Barrett has better value than Herro. Toppin is also has decent upside and is solid. I also think the knicks picks are worth 3 or more 1st from Miami. Those picks arent even comparable. Miami has little to no chance of them being anywhere near lottery. Knicks picks have huge potential in a few years. 4 different years of either having the Knicks picks or swapping with them is huge. If one or more of those is top 3 then this is an amazing trade.

I also think people over value picks over young players that have proven to be good picks with upside. Chances are always on picks being a miss even if they end up being lottery, which is also far from a guarantee. Teams that dont own their pick try pretty hard to win.

Man Quickley is underrated here. Plus they just got Brunson and would have DM in this scenario so they would very likely be ok throwing him in.He’s a RAPTOR god.

Him, RJ, Grimes and 3-4 firsts and I’m SO happy.

Well that would be quite the haul.

Mitchell just isn't worth that much. Barrett, Toppin, Fournier, and two firsts or swaps is probably the upper limit.
Yeah. No. That's worse than the Miami deal. No way that type of news is driving the rumors. I suspect we get a better deal but give them an expiring an take back a bad contract before we do this.
