What's new

Wolves ASM Tony Ronzone talks about Enes kanter workout , he liked enes kanter so much (video)

Thanks - I still can't believe they will pass up Derrick Williams to #2; but any glimmer of hope is appreciated.

I wanted to like Kanter, the little bit of video was intriguing. But the way he has treated the Jazz compared to the T-wolves and Cavilers is wrong. I know PKM says there was nothing to it, but I don't agree.

After Kanter's workout in Minnesota against Keith Benson his agent is talking to the media about how wonderful the T-wolves are and Kanter would love to play with them because they are the next Thunder, bla bla bla....

He wouldn't work out in Utah, wouldn't work out against anybody for the Jazz.

Maybe I'm too sensitive, but I'm tired of the Utah hate, I love my Jazz and want everyone else to love them too.

I agree with you here. Kanter is a dick. B Knight or bust!

Jazz have Jefferson, Favors and Millsap, with Okur perhaps returning. Kanter is just trying to land in the best possible situation for him. He needs PT, needs a chance to really develop so he can make some big $ after his rookie contract. I don't fault him for that. If anything, he's doing us a favor by showing he doesn't want to be in Utah. No sense taking a guy who might require 3-4 years to really develop...just in time to sign with someone else as a FA.

I think there's a good chance they pickup Kanter ahead of Williams.

Why?

Well, they already have a project tweener in Beasley. It says PF... and on ESPN he's billed at 6'10", but his pre-draft measurements are 6'7" w/o shoes, 6'8.25" with.

Kanter>Williams. The only way Williams lives up to the #2 pick is if he is able to play the SF position, which I don't think he can.

Maybe they learned from 2008? Pat Riley obviously regrets taking Beasley @ #2 over Kevin Love. Since they think Kanter is a center and not a power forward, I think they will take him. A front court of Kanter, Love, and Beasley is legit and Darko can come off the bench in a year or two.

I'm sure they have the same concerns as us about Kanter as a center, lets not be naive. Kanter and Love could be the next coming of Boozer/Okur defensively.

Williams measured 6' 7 1/4" w/o shoes and 6'' 8 3/4" with shoes - not to mention a wingspan and standing reach that puts him squarely on par with many exceptional frontcourt players in the NBA.
If Minnesota passes on Williams - it's only because nobody made them an offer they deemed attractive enough, because he's worthy of a top-2 pick whether he plays SF or PF.
