Woman, mistaken for a deer, is shot and killed by a "hunter"

Are you telling me that no constitution or amendment in history of humanity was ever changed? So if your constitution from hundreds of years ago would give you the right to own slaves you would do nothing and say he it is my RIGHT? Come on, it is not impossible to change. Humans evolve and get better and change laws, rules and constitutions for better. Is this stupid law to have right to own guns which was set some long time ago even relevant in today's reality? Absolutely no. Just do the right thing and leave it in history books. Arrange the referendum, let all people of USA decide. If majority is really that stupid and votes yes, than I would rest my case forever. But I can't believe most of USA people are this short sighted.
I'm telling you that if anything meaningful is to be done the Amendment needs to be changed. That's what I'm saying.

That’s the beauty of it. Based on this wonderful thing called The Constitution, it is a RIGHT.

It can be changed. Every country adjusts and fixes their Constitutions based on reality. Your current reality is way different from 18th century - it does not apply anymore.

Yes but you sounded like it is impossible.
Based on current public opinion, and on our current legislative make-up it is not possible right now.

Please read my last line in the OP and stop being a jerk.

I did read your post. Not well educated on your current legislative make-up, so please explain why it is not possible? How can it be in "most democratic" country ever that if majority of people would like to change their Constitution it is not possible?

I assumed you were talking to me, but either way that does nothing to further discussion.

Obviously I would never say anything like that to you. And yes, it does nothing to discussion, it was just last good bye post to that dick. Did you have him on ignore as well? If so makes sense as his quote just disappeared and it looked like I was replying to you.

It takes a 2/3rds majority to change the Constitution.

As for BigB, not only do I not have him on ignore, we've met in person well over a dozen times, he's a nice guy on and off Jazzfanz, I consider him a friend.

So 2/3 of Congress. So again, it is possible. If people start demanding it those who are elected by people would have no choice but to change it.

Possible, sure.

I've never shot one of the really large caliber pistols (I'm thinking like .500 S&W) with a long barrel and a scope. I have no idea how far out you could go with something like that.

You'd be surprised. I have a friend with a long range revolver (Remington XP 100, takes rifle ammo) and he can consistently shoot accurately to 200 yards. I also have semi auto pistols that we tested and we found 30 to 40 yards was about as far as you could go without losing a semblance of accuracy (25 yards is about my limit of keeping tight grouping with 9mm and .40). I was able to hit a target 100 yards out a few times with my friends Desert Eagle 5.0 and was fairly consistent with it.

The Remington was a lot of fun to shoot. Also google Bob Munden and 200 yards. Lots of videos of Bob and other shooters show that 200 yards is do-able for really good shooters, even with small caliber pistols.
