OH MY HEAVENS, I TOOK FAVORS????
Here's why: Paul has a complete game, good ball handling and balanced offence and defense. It's not his fault that he isn't three inches taller. He is -right now- better than Favors
Al is the best offensive player on the team, and at the end of games they can't win without him if it's close and the other team has a superstar.
Kanter is good offensively and defensively and has aggression as well. And oh, he has a mid range jump shot. And footwork. And a good attitude. His 'ceiling' may not be quite as high, but he makes up for it with grit and effort, and his ceiling really isn't half bad.
As for Favors, He is the most athletic big on the team, there is no denying that. However, he pouts, he does frustration fouls, and from what I've heard he has picked up Paul's 'I should be starting' attitude. (need that he does not)
End analyses: Favors has the highest ceiling, but as far as implementing his talent, he's the worst on the team. He's young, he still has time to grow up, but sorry, the only reason we don't re-sign both Al and Paul is because we can't afford them all, and Favors is comparable with upside at a lesser price, not because he is better now.
