Would anyone be upset if the Jazz selected...

Grayson Allen?

He worked out for us today. He'll come with a lot of drama. Thoughts?

If Lindsay has no problem drafting him at 21, I don’t either. Also, this could’ve gone in the draft thread. He’d fit well next to Exum coming off the bench. If he’s good, you don’t mind the drama, if he’s a bust there will be no drama

Someone enlighten me more about the drama. Is it Draymond-style drama or AK-style drama? I can live with the former, not so much the latter.

Allen has a history of tripping opposing players, in-game. Not sure he did it this year. I wanna say he did it once but I might be misremembering. He was much worse the year before.

I think he also lost his **** on the sidelines one game in 2016-2017.

More Draymond then AK. He’s super competitive. I’ve seen some of the incident‘s where he tripped other players. It’s usually when he gets beat, and he just can’t help himself because he’s soooo competitive and intense on the court imo

I don't think I see him as a 21st pick but that would be my only concern. He seemed to grow up a lot this year and had a huge impact on a very young team. I watched him play in person and was impressed with his floor game and the way he supported and involved his teammates.

Not sure why people like Dante so much, but not Allen. They seem pretty similar to me, with Allen being a better shooter. Allen might also be more athletic as well

It's more Chris Paul style stuff. He has like 3 or 4 separate occurrences of tripping opponents when he gets frustrated. Chris Paul has punched people in the dick before early in his career. Same with a guy like Batum. Tripping is just more frowned upon because it could lead to serious injury. He didnt do it at all this year.

I would definitely draft him at 25-26. Just think there will be a few players with more upside at 21.

I think Donte's release is better. Allen has him being athletically, handle, and playmaking. I think Grayson could legit put NBA players on posters on a monthly basis.

Sounds like you don’t like him because he’s older then other prospects, or you also aren’t high on Dante either or both. That’s understandable

Yeah, I mean, there are just several players I think *could* drop to 21 that I'd rather have, but I'm warming up to the idea of drafting him.

I could definitely see myself putting Allen in my top 30 by the time the draft rolls around.

He is a guy I could see being a lot better w/ NBA spacing where he can really use his athletic ability. The guy can really jump off 1 foot.

The best thing about Allen though is that he shoots a lot of 3's and gets to the FT line, and he's done it his entire career. Donte D shoots a lot of 3's, but he really doesnt get to the FT line much at all. This past year was his worse in that regard, but that was probably due to this Duke team being the worst spaced team he played on.

I've said for a while it is tough to screw up this draft imo because there are a lot of guys to like... taking Allen would be a screw up in my mind.

His lead footed defense also may stand out more in the NBA.
