What do you think?

I think we would and we could. I don't think we would have a hard time selling out. Look at how many people support the Utes and Cougars. Just bring them all together. Or they could just sit on opposite sides of the stadium. I think many would just skip church and go. I may be wrong. So I am curious to see what everyone thinks.

Also what are some name suggestions and where would the stadium go?

I don't know about everyone else but I would drop my favorite team in a heart beat for our own team.
 
I couldn't drop the Vikings but I would support a local team. I think the problem you'd run into would be the support on Sunday which you mentioned, but also the support of the major beer and liquor sponsors. That is, I think, the major hurdle. As for a name...call them the Utah Bandits (shout out to Butch Cassidy)
 
That's actually a pretty good idea, Hack.

Take all The Utes fans, byu fans, and Utah St fans then times that by the amount of people in Utah that watch the NFL and I don't see anyway that the league could deny us any longer.

Build the stadium in Park City, that way we get some of the ritzy tourists as part of our fan base plus we would have a killer home field advantage with the altitude.

The only roadblock in this plan is the team name. All the good ones are taken so that might hold up this entire process.
 
I kind of liked the Utah Bandits. Goes against the perception of Utah. Having said that I owuld not give up my Broncos if Utah got a team. I'd support them but not over the Broncos.

Wouldnt matter. Trout killed this way back on the old forum, probably doesn't remember himself.

Bottom line is major league draws fans. Every Vikings, broncos, green bay, 49ers, Jets, Dallas, Raiders game... they're all drawing in local fans as well as traveling followers. It would be a tourism boom in addition to the local effect.
 
Absolutely. So many Utahns are rabid for college football here, I feel Utah would do great with an NFL team. Even with all the Mormons not going on Sunday.

I think Utahns would love the team. I don't think Utah is a big enough market to attract the NFL.

edit....although if Utah did get a team, the local market wouldnt be forced into watching the Hideous Horse Riders from the east on Network TV at least. Might be worth it.
 
If all we're talking is putting butts in a stadium for 8 games a year, of course Utah could handle it. I still think we're about a million people short on the Wasatch Front of actually getting a shot though, but I would happily renounce my Raiders fandom in a second if it were to happen. I ****ing hate the Raiders.
