Why do they have to draft for potential?
Anytime you miss in the lottery it's a huge blow to your team's long term potential and asset potential.Because we are in rebuild mode. If you swing and miss it’s not the end of the world. Better to swing than to settle when we are in no position to just fine tune a playoff team.

can’t play defense like Rubio.No.
He can’t shoot.
What’s his ceiling?
Rubio?
The only thing him and Rubio have in common is their shooting arcNo.

It seems to me that the players who most surprisingly "pop" as stars in the NBA are are as often those that were regarded as low ceiling types. For every Giannis there's a Jokic or a Bruson, or even a Donovan Mitchell.
There’s way more. The only thing him and Rubio have in common is their shooting arc
That’s what they say about Rubio. He's only 18. It's not like he can't improve his shooting.
Zactly.And
can’t play defense like Rubio.
Id rather take Kel’el Ware at #10 (ceiling of Anthony Davis lite to my eyes)

And Carlton Carington at #29 (ceiling of Tyrese Maxey to my eyes)

Yes! He loves to bang it down low.A more realistic comp for Ware is probably along the lines of Myles Turner, imo, but he can probably do a few more things to set himself up offensively than Turner.

I’m surprised he isn’t mocked higher.
I would also trade down from #10 to get him, then trade up our #29 to grab Carington cos he won’t last til #29 I’m sure of that.
Carington has the “Hunger” and the “Drive” I also see in Maxey.
He’s the kind of prospect I could see outplaying his draft position.Ware is a possibility for OKC at #12 and POR at #14. If the Jazz wanted Ware, they shouldn't trade down too far, imo.

Hopefully we can get him.
