Would you take Marson Brooks for the GS pick?

As the Nets are looking for someone to give up a pick they can ship to Orlando, would you be happy with Brooks for the GS pick? We have a lot of young kids already and would another young talent be one too many, or would he be another young asset to build on?

First, given where the Jazz are at, I say bring on the young talent. You can't have too much of it yet. That said, I wouldn't like this trade because I'd like to see the Jazz grab a PG with the the Golden State pick. But I really like MarShon Brooks and I think he'll have a nice career.
 
I'm surprised to hear some of these responses. I actually like him a lot and think that he will be an above average SG/SF in the league.
 
And uh, the OP does realize that Brooks is likely going to be part of the three team Howard trade over the next 24 hours, right?

Agreed. As I mentioned, the main reason I wouldn't do this is wanting the Jazz to look at a PG with the GS pick. A second reason may be he plays the same position as Hayard and Burks. But I like the kid.

I highly doubt we'll be taking a PG with the GST pick.

Well it goes without saying that the Jazz will take "the best player available". I can hope it will be a PG, even if realism says otherwise.

Dude, do you realize that the Nets are actively shopping Brooks around to get a decent pick they can use in this trade? The only reason I posted this is because reports say that they are trying to get a 4th team involved that will get Brooks for a pick.
 
No thanks. Let's develop Burks, who is a better player. The only thing Brooks does better is three point shooting.

If Burks had played for the nets last year, he puts up just as good of numbers or better. Burks will put more pressure on defenses then Brooks. Burks is a slasher who will get to the line and has a good midrange game. Brooks is primarily a jump shooter.

Why? For hell sakes we have Burks who is a better player. Brooks already thinks he's a superstar. He's the type of guy that is going to leave Ut. The first chance he gets. Does this nut job even understand the the word team, because he's all about one person himself. We call Al a black hole, Brooks is black hole jr.
 
Uh, no. And right now in Orlando Brooks looks to be destroying all hopes of a dwight to nets trade.

It sounds like Liggins is shutting him down.
 
Remember the rookie soph. Game last year, when Brooks started to shoot a wide open 6 ft. set shot and decided to move to the three point line and air balled. I know it's an Allstar game, but god that was the dumbest thing I ever seen.
