I am very concerned about Exum's mindset. But I'll wait until the end of next year to make up my mind on Exum. If his mentality hasn't changed by the end of his sophomore year, I would call him a bust.

I wonder what the consensus of this poll would be if it was posed to t-wolves fans. (Them trading lavine for exum)

Good point. I doubt anyone would want to make the the trade. I'm sure they are really happy with Lavine.

Jazzfanz is like, Exum is young, so it's ok that he sucks. But Lavine sucks just because. It doesn't matter that he is young. That's not an excuse.

Exum>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lavine

Lavine isn't a winning type of player.

He's not winning type of player like Westbrook isnt. They have their flaws and more athleticism than smarts, but it's still useful, and you can still win with it.

I don't hate Exum. I still like his potential. I just like Lavine and his potential more at this point. Although, he is on the Wolves. They may destroy him.

That's not good. I kinda whiffed on that one. But I'm a lot better at judging basketball talent though.

Your only mistake was calling him up at the end of last year. I kinda understand though because they needed a little excitement in Disco town last season.

This season is the least I have ever followed the NBA, but if Lavine is being compared to Westbrook it's like a super duper poor mans Westbrook that dunks awesome, right??

Some people might make that argument. I dont think Exum sucks right now. I do think he has a lot of developing to do, which he will. Exum is an above average defender for his position in the league. that is half of the game. He is below average offense but not as bad as some make it out to be. He is playing within the system and trying not to make mistakes. People here want a scoring pg from Exum, for some reason, even though fans have been begging for a pass first pg which is what Exum is. He is developing fine and he is completely worn out from this season.

Stocktons numbers his first three years in the league were not that great, he developed pretty well. Stockton was also 4 years older when he was a rookie. Stockton was not doing much in college when he was the same age as Exum.

Would Jazz fans be happy next year if Exum puts up the same stats Stockton did in his 2nd season? He averaged 7.7 points on 48% shooting and 13 percent on threes and 7.1 assist

Stop hoping Exum skips steps in development and start appreciating he is learning the game right, trying to play smart winning basketball. He is listening to the coaches and doing what they ask of him.

The coaching staff knows what they are doing with Exum, there is a reason he is not driving to the rack every possession. He will drive more when he gets the game down.

Exum has shown he has elite potential at defense and passing and an ability to hit open set threes. Seems like a dream player for this team. When other parts of his game develop, when he puts as much effort into them as he is on other parts of his game, watch out.

Exum will be the second best PG in Utah Jazz history. Some will argue the best because he will have a chip to hang his hat on.

I'm with you on most things, but what has people worried is atm he is soooooo inept at driving to the rim even when he does take the odd gentle foray. I'm hoping it comes with a year or two but can be quite frustrating to watch at times.

I agree it can be. Quinn also spends a ton of time working on those floaters with him. When he gets it down it will be unstoppable. I hope/assume that when Exum develops physically more he will take the ball to the hoop more physically when needed. No reason to beat him up more than he already is. Exum's vertical will go waaayyyy up over the next few years as well.

I wouldn't say Westbrook isn't a winning player. He wins. His team has a winning record.
