Would you trade Hayward+assets for John Wall??

For the sake of discussion, let's say Washington is actually willing to trade Wall. Here's what they ask for: Favors or Hayward + Exum + 2 first-round picks. I'm not saying that's a reflection of Wall's ACTUAL value, or that he's that much better than the outgoing pieces; I do think that Washington would only part ways with Wall for a large loot.

I tend to agree.

Did that not ring true last time he hit the market?? lets see how it goes next summer..

I'm an old school MMO (Everquest) veteran btw, Once I got older I became quite convinced the average people playing games of certain types are influenced to be greedy.

I never would have guessed this.

They'd ask for it then Utah would hang up.

Depending where the Brooklyn pick lands I'd want to trade Hayward for Brooklyn's first, Olynyk and change.

"Hey Boston, we know you probably think you can just sign Hayward in FA next year, but why not just give us your top 5 pick?"

I can't believe you clowns and your petty jealousy of Hayward. He's more than earned his contract the last couple of years. If we kept him for 25 million that would be a great deal in the coming NBA landscape. His sort of players don't grow on trees.

Most of the complaints about him completely ignore the facts. We'll keep him, the team will grow and add a piece or two and we'll have a real window for 4-5 years. Some of you need to step back and get a grip. Barely over a year ago this team completely sucked and now some of you want to blow it up because one of the youngest teams in the league that was decimated by injuries just missed the playoffs.

Its not petty jealousy. The standard for excellence in the west is pretty high these days last I checked.. And the Jazz were 1-13 vs the top 4 teams in the west this year..

Overpaying the wrong player a Max deal could be a crippling blow for a young team trying to make noise..

Especially if that player has shown signs of wilting in adverse conditions.

Also as I've said many times before, if there's any player that deserves to get needled it's the highest paid on the team.

I would trade Hayward or Favors or Exum plus pieces for Wall. Only one of those three.

Wall is very, very good but he isn't worth two of those guys.

I agree

He shoots 43% from the field and 35% from three. Good defender, good passer.
and now some of you want to blow it up

John wall, hood, Burks, favors, Gobert, lyles, exum, isn't really "blowing it up" imo. Still a pretty Damn good core to build around.

Thats a fantastic core to build around.. and easily a 50-win team next season..

Taurean Prince would be a really solid 1st round pick in that scenario. Demarre Carroll style SF, plays with his heart on his sleeve, he's very poised/polished/NBA ready too..

The only person it makes sense to trade for wall is Exum, to replace that position.

Players with all around skills don't grow on trees dude, don't rely on stats. How much help has he had on offense this last couple of years ? Any other team in the league would love to have him.

btw i'm not saying he's a no.1 who is going to take a team to a title on his back at all, very few and far between are those players. Clearly we need at least one or two of our guys to become as good if not better than Gordon or for one guy to somehow become an absolute star.

I think having depth at the point guard position is ok. Wall and exum sounds good to me. Especially if exum isn't ready. And both guys are big (wall is 6'4, exum 6'6), why not play them together!

mate it just seems like redundancy to have two similar types of players. Plus the Jazz aren't going to let anything get in the way of Exum's minutes & development. If he doesn't turn out to be really good we're screwed as far as contending goes.
