What's new

WOW hornets......3yrs 27million Lance Stephenson! wowowoowowoww so mad right now.

Actually they offered him an even better contract

Initially, but then didn't they come down. This whole thing seems a little screwy... if I'm lance's agent I get the most years I can. He could be JR Smith by the all star break.

Hornets would rather have had Hayward at 16 million for 4 than Stephenson at 9 million for 3. No two ways about it. It amuses me that many are pissed about that. And, of course, Charlotte will compete in the East. My ward basketball team would be competing for home court in the first round in the East.

The key is not to have a whole team of knuckleheads. Good orgs can usually absorb a couple. We've had Kirk Snyder, Robert Whaley, and others that were worse people with far less upside. You could get rid of Lance in a New York minute at 27 mill over 3.

Bobby Williams and Torry Ellis say hi

What is wrong with GM Dennis? Why he takes scared little boy blue over real man that is strong to guard Boss Lebron? Hayward cannot guard box of bunny rabbits why does Dennis like to pay twice as much to players that have no muscles?

The Jazz organization has always held players to a higher standard than many other NBA teams. Players like Stephenson who have had issues off the court as well as on the court are a huge red flag to owners like the Miller's. Even if Lance would have been willing to sign with the Jazz (He wouldn't), there is no way the Jazz would want to take that risk. I know it is frustrating for some of you, but that is the way it will always be. Maybe you'd be better suited rooting for an organization that isn't so risk adverse.

I don't really like Lance Stephenson's game, tbh. He's a ball stopper and not real efficient. Not sure he's worth the attitude.

You. Might be. The Worst. Alt. Of All Time.

**heavenlyreps**

I forgot the Marvin signing. Charlotte just quietly assembled one of the better wing defenses in the game with Marvin-MKG-Stephenson. They're going to win a lot of games by getting stops late and feeding it to one of the very best clutch shooters in the NBA.

They were already top 5 defense, yes?

They sound good on paper, I'm curious how it turns out.

This might be a recipe for a long playoff run.

East is slowly getting better.

Shut the **** up, Donny.

Calm down Lance.

I was going to say the same thing.

Yamers, have you noticed Quin's offensive strategy during the summer league? Ball movement and UNSELFISH passing. No ONE is claiming Gordon's contract is a great deal; he IS overpaid. But he's never caused problems in the locker room; never picked fights with teammates. Until proven otherwise, Stephenson is a cancer.

I think Indiana offered 5/$44M, which per year is just under 3/$27M.

How scared is Charlotte that Lance may become the next Ron Artest? The third year is a TEAM option.

Seems like he wanted shorter contracts, Pacers wanted him for 4-5 years.

I am sure the Pacers, given the small market and the desire to stay below the cap, would have happily done a shorter 3 year deal. I think he probably just wanted out of Indiana or go to a place where he could be "the man."
