Yahoo: 'Utah attempting to move up'

In my not so humble opinion, trading up for anyone in this draft not named "John Wall" or "Evan Turner" would be stupid. Stay at 9 and let the chips fall where they may.
 
Did the Jazz FO have their hearts set on a top-3 or top-5 pick for the last few years, and now they can't live without it? This entire board was planning on having Wall or Turner, wouldn't be surprised if the front office was planning on it as well. With the #9 pick it's as if they've been planning on a spring break trip for the last 5 years and arrived in Florida only to find that they're just in time for the Hairy German Weight Watchers Convention.
 
Do not want Monroe or Cousins. If we trade up for them I'd be discouraged. I've stated my reasons for dislike for Monroe ad nauseum and by all accounts I've heard Cousins is a POS.
 
There are only 3 can't miss players in the draft (Wall, Turner, Johnson). Then there's a guy that wasn't very productive (though rather efficient) with superb length and athleticism, and a fat doucher that was one of the most productive/efficient players of the last decade with elite strength and length.

After that, everyone is either too soft, too white, too old, too unathletic, too short, too raw, or too something to be worthy of a top-10 pick. Trading up to grab that soft-on Monroe would be retarded beyond description.
 
If the Jazz move up to #5, I think it will be to take Monroe. I think he will be one of the best players to come out of this draft.

You should change your title from "Beer Fan" to "FO Slop Peddler" or "David Locke". Not sure what the difference is.

1. DeMarcus Cousins

Cousins is the darling of the statistical evaluations. One concern I have with variations of PER is that it rewards players with high rebounding and high field goal percentage numbers that play limited minutes. On film, Cousins is an advanced offensive player; his post moves are more developed than a lot of current NBA centers. However, his attitude could counteract those positives. Too often, Cousins showed signs of immaturity that made him an unlikable player to watch at Kentucky. It is one thing to get into it with the opposition; it's another to challenge your coach. Cousins disappointed a lot of NBA people by saying that concerns about his behavior were media-driven. Plus his work ethic, conditioning and defensive commitment are all question marks at this point.

We'll have to disagree about that.

Wall looks like a can't miss player but he needs to improve his shooting and consistency to become an all-star.

Turner struggles to shoot as well.

Johnson hasn't proven he attack the basket or create scoring opportunities.
 
Gasol, Bynum, Perkins, Garnett...they're all impacts on defense. If we move up to draft Monroe, which I fear many of you are correct about, I'll give the **** up. He's a freakin' non-athletic *****. That's not a good combo inside.
 
If the Jazz move up it better be for some one like Flavors or Johnson or Turner. Not sure I would be willing to pay the price to move up for anyone else

I'll never go to another Jazz game if they trade up for Flavors.

Don't worry they won't, Collins' 31 will be going up in the rafters, but some may be intrigued by the multifaceted options he'd bring, between the creamy smoothness of his offense or his chunky hardness he'd bring to defense and he's got ice milk in his veins during crunch time, could also be a marketing dream.

I've never seen him play and know nothing about him. If the Jazz trade up go get Flavors, who I know nothing about, then so help me, I will never go to another game and I will burn the place to the ground.
 
So in other words you don't have a good reason? He would be a great pick up IMO. Depending on what we had to give up to get him of course.
 
Everyone needs to stop themselves and ask, "What do the Jazz need out of the center position?" Then look at the players that provide what the Jazz need.
