I linked him the "Pray for Trey Burke" thread on twitter the day before we drafted him, saying I hope we get him.
Lol.

And as sappy as it may have been, did anyone else interview the draftee's father, like Locke did? He would have even talked with Burke's mom had she wanted.^^^
Yep agreed. I've been looking through all the Press Conferences for the draftees, and I can safely say that the Jazz Press Conference for Burke, Gobert & Neto was by FAR the best.
Why?
Because it was the only one where the ownership, the GM, and the Coach were all there, and the importance of "Family" was emphasized.
I wouldn't be surprised the Burke actually was "touched" by how involved the ownership is to this team and the family atmosphere. Trey is a good Christian and he often emphasized the fact that his parents have a loving & supportive relationship.
He is a keeper folks. I think he recognized a great Organization when he sees one. Here's hoping he's a Jazz man for life!! For Realz!!!

Yep, as a fellow Christian, I am 100% sure that his family was touched by what the Jazz did at both the Press Conference and what Locke did. You can't fake these things, they felt the "Love".
BTW Jazz's Press Conference was one of the the only ones that welcomed the players' family.. the others were just too "rushed".
Give the kid the keys & let's see what he can do. He seems to thrive under pressure.
Yeah, stinking atheists have no appreciation for such things...too busy spreading doubt and hate.
The thing I noticed about the Jazz press conference was it was a celebration of our amazing draft day victories. The FO was all smiles and boasts about how well the draft went and how excited we all are for the future.
For a guy like Burke who claims he's been passed over and underrated his whole life he sees an NBA organization and an entire city buzzing all because we got him. I think that's got to feel pretty good regardless of religious affiliation.
Nuh-uh. We can't relate unless we're Christian. Duh. Sucks 4 me u and GF
Not only that, he sees a team that traded UP to get him. In one of his interviews, he talked about expecting to go in the 2-7 range. Perhaps he thought the Pistons were his floor, since Knight has struggled with trying to be a true PG. I can just imagine his disappointment as he slides down the board, only to be blindsided by then getting picked by Minnesota. There had to be a "WTH?" (what the heck) moment as he thought about how he could possibly fit in with a team that already had a franchise PG in Rubio. Then he finds out about the trade in his interview while he's feigning excitement over playing in Minnesota. I was incredibly impressed by his poise, composure and graciousness in all his interviews. And now as he and his family sit and reflect, they realize that even though he was drafted lower than expected - and it costs some money initially - he's probably in the best situation he could have hoped for: a franchise that loves PG's, practically invented the P&R, and will be desperate for his scoring. The thing I noticed about the Jazz press conference was it was a celebration of our amazing draft day victories. I don't know why, but getting Trey Burke almost feels like we grabbed LeBron James.
I'm still feeling a high off of this ****!

KOC--Jazz tried to trade in to draft Trey at 6, 7, & 8 and got turned down. Then at 9 they found somebody interested.
So the Zeller and KCP picks were key in obtaining Burke. Most thought those two would be drafted AFTER Trey. Pushed him down the board a couple of spots
I knew Zeller going that high was huge. Once KCP went 8th, I started believing. So, yeah.
BTW, I don't really understand the KCP pick. Do the Pistons just hate point guards?
Wow is this for real? Has Burke now got the number #3???

But DeMarre Carroll has a hold on No. 3 w/ Jazz until his free-agency situation's resolved. He's a strong candidate to be re-signed by Utah.

Jazz rookie Trey Burke prefers No. 3—and that jersey is apparently on sale today at Fanzz. (h/t @Utah_JazzNation)
