Yet another trade idea (#5 pick)

Salmons & Garcia for Al works. Still works if you add Jimmer and Bell.

I read Sacto is in an unsure financial situation. Maybe they are willing to part with the #5 pick if the jazz take back all that gauranteed salary. KOC would have to think about it.

I'd do it too. Also, if he isn't moved I suspect Paul would be gone next summer with nothing in return since he'll probably expect something like 50-60 million over four years. This is getting good value for your asset before it walks and puts another good young CHEAP player on the books for a few years.

More interested in something like this, personally.

I don't know what's worse, their contracts or shooting. That's a lot to take on for a #5 pick. Maybe the pick for taking Salmons & Garcia. Then Al for Tyreke to round out the money end of things. I'm still not very interested though.

Fredette and #5 (Lillard) for Millsap or is Lillard a reach at #5? If so, I'd take Barnes, Kidd-Gilchrist, or Beal in that order

Utah:
Lillard / Fredette
Burks
Hayward / Carroll
Favors / Evans
Jefferson / Kanter

Sacramento:
Thomas
Thornton
Evans
Millsap
Cousins

Here's a realistic home for Big Al: Portland.

Portland needs a center more than they need 2 picks in this draft (Unless, of course they use pick #11 to get a center).

I say yes.

At least one of our bigs has to go. Otherwise they will be gone on their own next year. And if they arent, all that means is more bench time for Kanter and Favors.

Its a no brainer. KOC needs to cash in on these assets. Infact he should have done it last year. Now our barganing position has been weakened.

My guess is that neither side does it. KOC has made it clear he doesnt want to add youth. The Kings would be stupid to do it.

First, maybe there wasn't a good enough deal on the table. Do you want him to take the first deal that comes up or wait for something a bit more valuable. Secondly, I don't believe our position has been weakened one bit, in fact, I see it to be strengthened. Big Al's $15 million expiring contract is worth more to someone later in the season who has given up. That's a lot of money. Milsap doesn't make chump money at 7.2 million. Then Devin Harris is at 8.5 million. Those are the 3 top payed guys, all expiring. At the very least, Jefferson's contract is worth something of quality to someone.

this.

Nothing compares to the dream of trading Harris or Jefferson + a future pick to NOLA for Ariza and #10 (Marshall).

When weighing an Al trade, remember that the clown has held two coaches hostage for two years. I want my ****ing Jazz basketball back. Please.

This is my biggest issue with this Jazz team. Al has turned us into the most boring basketball team to watch. We run a total of maybe 4 plays, but the majority of our offense is take 8 seconds to get the ball to Al, let him take 5-6 seconds to see if he can weezy it in (meanwhile the rest of the team is masterweezing themselves), then if he can't, kick it out and have Harris/CJ/Hayward jack up an ill advised 3 with 6 seconds left on the shot clock, because heaven forbid we run a quick pick and roll (oh wait, we can't because Al sucks at it).

Harris and Watson still have another year on contract.

Lol, I remember one game this season where the Jazz were within 2 points of the opposing team and there were 4 mins left in the game.
The Jazz ran 6 Big Al postups in those 4 mins. It was the most boring clutch time I'd ever seen.
The best thing about it was how Hayward took his crappy role of curling through the screens to get Al the ball in the post with pride.

At that point, the result didn't matter anymore. I almost cried.

I share this sentiment. I'd rather have been an exciting team that finished 30-36 than a boring team that finished 36-30. Boring is fine if you're winning, but if you're losing or hovering around .500 it makes it tough to watch.
