What's new

You are Kevin O'Connor. How do you get a center?

What about using part of the MLE for J. O'Neal?

I think most of that is going to Matthews and possibly or Korver(long shot now)

I would take O'neal for 2-4 million. Hell he would start half the time when Memo's Achilles is acting up again.

No one drafted Omar Samhan. He's a big 6'11" and 265. I say invite him to Summer League. He couldn't be any worse than Honzward. He basically willed his team into the sweet 16. He's supposedly a hard working guy too. He might be able to block some shots. He scored 61 points in the first two games St. Mary's played in the NCAAs.

Not bad. He put up 21, 11 & 3. As a senior, I don't see why he couldn't give a good 10 minutes.

Buy a DeLorean, install a flux capacitor, install a Mr. Fusion, add plutonium, set the date to June 26, 2008, gun that sled to 88 miles per hour and draft Serge Ibaka.
OR
set the date to June 24, 2004, and draft Anderson Varejão.
OR
set the date to June 26, 2003, and draft Kendrick Perkins.
OR
set the date to June 26, 2002, and draft Nenad Krstić.
OR
set the date to June 27, 2001, and draft Samuel Dalembert.

Every single one of those guys makes this team worse.

I would definately invite hime to camp. He doesn't look like an athelete, but the dude can really play. I have seen 6 or 7 of his games and walked away thinking he could be a solid rotation player in the NBA.

I like the Chandler option. I recall talking about it a few weeks ago, and it sounded possible.

I have a question about the MLE. Why would the Jazz have to use the MLE on Matthews? Is it because he was an undrafted rookie on a non-guaranteed contract? I thought you could re-sign your own players and exceed the cap.

Brendan Haywood, but Jazz will need to overpay for him.
Darko Milicic played solid for Minesota in second part of season ( altough in garbage games ).Maybe he is worth one year chance...
Some trade with Orlando to get Gortat.
Really, not many options...:(

Gortat is just a more polished version of Fes, so no point on taking on his contract...
Chandler is the best option (I also love Brad Miller in our system & cheaper) but will require more than a MLE (opting out of a ~12.75M PO).

I forgot if Eddy Curry was a favorite of Larry Brown but maybe a S&T (Boozer to NYK for Curry/Chandler). NYK does this so they can a max Boozer & Joe Johnson have cap for role players…

Potential 2010 Lineup:
DWill / Price / (Gaines)
Matthews / WChandler / (Jeffers)
CJ / G-Time / FA
Millsap / AK
TChandler / Memo / Fes / KoKo

Tradable Assets (24.3M):
WChandler
AK 17.8M
Harpring 6.5M

I think the best way for KOC to get a center is for him to get Margo Dydek drunk some night and try to make a love child. It will be a 'project', but it might pan out down the line.

Haven't you been listening for the last 3 years? We don't need another player we just need a chance to get healthy and gel as a team all TRUE Jazz fans know this. Everything thing we need is in our own locker room.

But after playing with center Ante Tomic this past season in Spain, Utah Valley State product and former BYU star Travis Hansen — recovering himself from recent back surgery — has no doubt that the Jazz's 2008 second-round draft choice can play in the NBA.

"Ante Tomic is nice," Hansen, with extra emphasis on 'nice', said during an appearance Sunday night on KSL-TV Ch. 5's "SportsBeat" show. "I really like him, man.

"He's 7-(foot)-1, 7-2. He's a little bit skinny, but he's a lot like (Los Angeles Lakers All-Star) Pau Gasol. He can move. He's got great lateral quickness. He's got a great touch. He can shoot the 15-footer — you know, right, left, back-to-the-basket. He's phenomenal."
