What's new

You asked for it...now your getting it.

I have not read too many complaints on jazzfanz, mostly people putting up pictures of wiggins and declaring their faith in Alec burks. I am really loving this season. My wife is hating it though. She can't understand why we watch games that we don't expect to win. The whole concept of the professional tank is lost on her.

The same with my wife!!!!

Majority wanted to see a youth moment...you got it. Some even want a shot at a possibly historic NBA draft...you got it. Now everyone needs to just stay calm and let it happen. I dont get why so many are freaking out at this point. Let the young guys play and get the needed experience. In that we will get a few wins but most of all we will get better.

Funny thing is that the young guys have played pretty well, for the most part. Our bench sucks as expected and it has cost us, again as expected. The youth have a lot to learn but they will by playing and getting in situation and learning how to deal with them.
.
I still love watching this team 100X more than last year or the year before.

One reason it's super exciting for me is I'm always like, "Which young guy is going to have a monster game today???".

I think our bench has actually been decent to be honest. It's just the point guard spot on every lineup that really lets us down (even though lucas did make some pretty big buckets yesterday)

Been fun watching the games even with losses, for me its been most fun and enjoyment since the Stockton/Malone era.
the young guys are getting plenty burn and we're actually seeing a bunch of guys share the scoring and ball instead of alfence.
As long as we end up with more than 9 wins (just to make sure we don't get least amount of wins in NBA history)-though pretty sure we get around 20-30 I can handle this easy.

No we are not. If the Jazz get a good pick in the draft and choose correctly we are there.

Kanter, Favors, Gobert, Evans, Rush, Hayward, Burks, Burke, Neto, Jefferson, Williams. Add an elite draft pick and GST s pick an that is 13 players. All the Jazz have to do is match on Hayward, bring over Neto, and land Rush, Jefferson and Williams. I think keeping Rush will be the hardest. Jefferson stays as he will appreciate the chance Utah gave him and will stick around. This team as is when healthy and an elite scorer is there.

lol. We are saying the same thing.

How do you figure? You say we need a PG and a back up PG. I say we already have them. You want shooters? have them to - Hayward, Rush and Burke when he gets back.

This team as is and adding 1 guy is there. You disagreed with that.

I'm enjoying watching the "youth movement" play and Burks is especially fun to watch. But, I have to admit, the competitive side comes out in me and I want them to win. The most painful part of this season is the huge amount of turnovers. The games are kind of hard to watch and there are many possessions we just look clueless on what we are trying to do.

At the risk of derailing the tank, I would like to see them learn how to close a game. Watching a 16 point halftime lead evaporate as quickly as it did on Saturday night can be discouraging. I don't mind the losses but I want to see losses with lessons learned. A good point guard can do wonders with this team, but so could Wiggins.

I see that as one of many lessons that need to be learned both by the team as a whole and by the core as individuals. Only time will tell if they are learning.

It is nice to see the young guys play but if anyone thinks the Jazz are one player Wiggins away from being contenders then I think you have drank too much kool-aid.

We still don't know if Burke or Neto are the answer at PG and both are undersized.
Gobert needs to add 30-40 lbs. We don't know if he is capable of it.
Jazz need at least two or three more shooters. No I don't count Rush or Jefferson as shooters.
Jazz need to keep Hayward at the right price
Jazz need to get more athletic.
Jazz need to hope that Favors improves offensively
Jazz need to hope that Kanter improves defensively
Jazz need both 2014 picks to be above average.
Jazz are going to have some one step up and be a leader.

Why don't you count rush
Agreed on Favors and Kanter, at least more consistent.
Burke will step up into that leadership role I think.
More athletic? While always nice Favors, Evans, Hayward and Burks are all athletic.

Do those saying the bench sucks realize the starters are being outscored by far more on a per minute basis?

No, I did not notice that Hayward was a team low of -25 +/- last night.

I know there are going to be (a lot of) games like last night where they get destroyed, but the lack of engagement I saw from Favors was disappointing. I also wonder how many turnovers Hayward has to get from trying to dribble through traffic before he realizes that it's just not working. I think the "poor handle" scouting report has circulated.

Thank you Alec Burks. And I think we all knew the starters were going to struggle scoring... Let alone without a legit nba pg.

On with the tank. Wewt
