To the OP,

I've been a lifelong Jazz fan. There have been a lot of hard years and only two finals appearances that both ended in losses. I'm sure to the world the Jazz just lost those finals to a better team and the greatest player of all time. I'll give them that on the first finals appearance, but not on the second. That year the Jazz were the better team and played the better series. It's a bitter pill. I've always believed in the Jazz and in the possibility that they would surprise the world. So often they outperformed expectations. I was proud of that. But lately I see a team under-performing. I see a team with a strong history of fighting for every inch just giving away games. Lack of heart, lack of discipline, lack of direction. That's not the Jazz I know.

I wish it was as easy as saying I don't like what I see and turning away. In a big way that's what I've done. I've probably watched about 30min of basketball in the last two months. That hasn't happened in years. I used to never miss a game. If I couldn't watch I'd find a way to listen, or I'd record the game and try my best not to get it spoiled. There's a lot of inertia in my fandom, but it's petering out. That is sad in it's own way because I see a team that might die. We're a small market. The team has only stayed because the fans have been so incredibly loyal. The way things are going that support will not last and when it's gone the team will go with it.

Wolf PM'ed me wanting to know why I called it childish since I didn't respond in thread. Then asked why it bothered me so much. I pointed out who PMed who...

As for the comment about the youth not being ready to close out games well Ty keeps making stupid mistakes that cost us those games. Such as sitting Favors for Sap agaisnt Milwuakee and Putting Foye on Irving and sitting Burks and Kanter against the Cavs. The youth get us in position to win then Ty torpedoes the whole game...

This. And he has been making similar decisions his whole career. Putting the vets in to close games even though they have been getting their asses handed to them and the Bench was killing the other team.

1. I think it was the right call to play Kanter and Sap against the Bucks but that topic has been beaten to death so we'll move on.

2. Irving only went 2-6 in the last 3 minutes, not great, but 3 of his misses turned into offensive rebounds. Thats a big problem, I guess Burks could have got those but not likely if he is guarding Irving. The bigger problem is the Jazz scoring 1 point the last 3 minutes, once again one can argue that Burks would have scored, but its not a sure thing. I probably would have kept Burks in to guard Irving but I dont think its definitive that that was a big factor in the loss.

3. Sap has been one of our best clutch players the last few years, so to sit him down the stretch doesn't make a ton of sense.

The 2 games Jefferson sat Millsap has decided that he is the man and had tried to take over the scoring down the stretch. In both cases is was a stupid decision that failed. He is just not as good offensively as Al and should use his team to try and win the games (so should Al though). It's the same thing Mo does but Mo takes a lot more crap for it because he's not as beloved here as Millsap.

I agree to a point, Millsap takes attempts to take over by taking the ball to the rim, for the most part, Mo tries to take over by taking long contested 3's. Pauls is a good idea that doesn't work because he isn't big enough. Mo's just suck all the way around.
