i like leonard too, but sap to leonard is a downgrade in overall terms.

If it was 100% clear that the Jazz could not re-sign Millsap for a non-max deal, and it is a trade with the Spurs for Millsap, I would accept any combination of 2of these 4 players Tiago Splitter, DeJuan Blair, Kawhi Leonard, or Danny Green. Ideal would be Splitter and Leonard or Leonard and Green. Blair might have to be a third throw-in for salary sake.

But he will recieve a better deal than Brooklyn's scrubs of Humphries and Wallace.

I bet he gets offered 12 to 14 million a year for at least 4 years.

I'd definitely want Splitter or Blair in the deal (maybe even both) to pick up the slack off the bench that Millsap wouldn't ever accept.
Obviously Blair and Splitter aren't close to a Millsap, but they're both defensive bodies that would be needed after trading Sap.

the market value of a non-allstar PF this offseason doesn't necessarily determine the market value of a non-allstar PF next offseason.

i mean, agents will try to use that 12M range as a reference point, but in the supply-and-demand reality of NBA economics, a lot will come down to how many buyers there are. a lot could change over the next 10 months, but right now there doesn't project to be a large number of spending teams next offseason.

i think paul gets 4 years and 40-48M. i hope he gets it from us.
