Nice seeing another RB fan.

Here's a classic...

Now everybody have you heard
If you're in the game, then the stroke's the word
Don't take no rhythm, don't take no style
Got a thirst for killin', grab your vile...

You put your right hand out give a firm hand-shake
Talk to me about that one big break...
Spread your ear-pollution both far and wide...
Keep your contributions by your side and stroke me,
stroke me
Could be a winner boy, you move quite well...
You got your number down...
Say you're a winner but man you're just a sinner now

You put your left foot out keep it all in place...
Work your way right into my case
First you try to bed me you make my backbone slide
But when you found you bled me-- skip on by...
keep on---stroke me, stroke me
Give me the business all night long...
You're so together boy...
Say you're a winner but man you're just a sinner now

Better listen now (said) it ain't no joke
Let your conscience fail ya, just do the stroke
Don'tcha take no chances keep your eye on top
Do your fancy dances you can't stop you just stroke me,
stroke me

Good call on Rocket Queen by G'NR

That whole album was simply awesome. In fact, the worst song was one of their biggest commercial successes, Paradise City.

Welcome To The Jungle

It's So Easy

Nightrain

Out Ta Get Me

Mr. Brownstone

Paradise City

My Michelle

Think About You

Sweet Child o' Mine

You're Crazy

Anything Goes

Rocket Queen

I always liked Night Train. I remember when that album came out. It was such a breath of fresh air in the bubble-gum glam-rock garbage of the 80's.

When Appetite For Destruction came out, there had simply never been anything like it. Marcus, I also agree that the weakest song on the album is Paradise City. A guy at work just turned me on to a cover album by a band called Halestorm. They've got a chick lead singer and they cover Out To Get Me. It's actually much better than I had anticipated.

GnR trivia: The girl in the throes of ecstasy in "Rocket Queen" was actually Steven Adler's girlfriend and she had sex with Axl in the studio to provide the orgasmic sound.

I'll check it out. If they can cover GNR well they've got to have some talent. Hopefully some great original songs as well.

I've heard that before. Since it was for the good of the group she was all in. Of course Axl had to pay her with two bottles of Jack Daniels.

Been listening to them on Youtube. Chick can rock! I love this kind of music. It gets my pulse up and releases a nice dose of endorphins!!

It's good to see that I'm not the only one who loves "Rocket Queen" and "Estranged". The latter is my favorite GnR song and it's a shame it didn't get more love. It's so much better than "November Rain" and some of the other songs that got played from the "Use Your Illusion" albums. The other "Illusion" song I really loved was "Pretty Tied Up".

"I created the sound of madness,
wrote the book on pain
somehow I'm still here to explain;
that the darkest hour never comes in the night,
you can sleep with a gun, when you gonna wake up and fight?
For Yourself."

My favorite non-mainstream Illusion song has got to be Locomotive or Bad Apples.

I didn't really care for Illusion all that much. I don't know why, it just didn't have the same edge as Appetite. I liked GnR for that reason really, and Illusion went more mainstream and lost some of that edginess that separated them from everyone else.

Axl definitely got a lot more "artsy" on the Illusion records. There's stuff on each album that just misses the mark with me. However, the songs that do have some edge to them seem to be a worthy follow-up to Appetite. On a related note, what did you fellow G'NR fans think of Chinese Democracy? Even though I was not expecting much, I was pretty bummed out by the effort. It has it's brief moments but Axl seems to be all over the place from song to song. Best thing he could do is swallow his pride and give Slash, Duff and Izzy a call.

Not to be too harsh but I thought Chinese Democracy was garbage. Stinky garbage.

Chad your BHG wasn't lost on me I will occasionally steal and post a few lines from that song especially and others, hear dude writes his own lyrics, he's got one creatively twisted mind.

And to go a little guilty pleasure and kinda take the thread down a notch for whatever reason these lyrics speak to and make me laugh inside, the line that gets stuck in my head is.

Hear the voices in my head
I swear to God it sounds like they're snoring
But if you're bored then you're boring
The agony and the irony, they're killing me, whoa!

Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh lord, why don't we?
We all know that people are the same where ever we go
There is good and bad in evryone,
We learn to live, we learn to give
Each other what we need to survive together alive.

Ebony, ivory, ooh

We learn to live, we learn to give
Each other what we need to survive together alive.

I hate songs that encourage open minds and togetherness. Music is a freakin escape. Give me songs about fast cars, sluty women, and kickin' some ***.

Ya because The Beatles and Bob Dylan, should have just stuck to singing about girls and not CHANGING THE ****ING WORLD

Music is a way to speak to people, to think that it doesn't have an effect on your emotion and society, is literally retarded.

On a similar note,
My favorite songs about togetherness and open mindedness
Shed A Little Light- James Taylor
Revolution- The Beatles
Imagine- John Lennon
Get It Together- Seal
The Trees- Rush (god, those guys were awesome)
Is This The World We Created- Queen
Blowin In The Wind- Dylan (I like PPM version too)
Times They Are A Changin- Dylan
Waiting on The World to Change- Mayer
Never Let You Down- Kanye/Jay Ivy

I'm sure there are others
