Danny coming to his senses and hanging up the damn phone. . .In a scenario that we decided to trade him, what is your best case return?
Pretty sweet package right there. One blue chip rookie contract player (not like guaranteed star good, but I guess Jabar Smith esque quality, not Cason Wallace)and at least 2 high quality unprotected first that are from teams with a dicey future outlook and two additional lower quality first.
You forgot to include Amen (for future trade) and some 2nd round picks. All their assets or eff all the way off.To Houston for Whitmore+Eason+Sheppard+4 first rounders
Yeah I'd include Amen as well but kinda want Sheppard because we would struggle mightily with shooting/spacing once we lose Lauri. We are amongst the bottom half of teams in terms of 3pt shooting percentage already. We can't afford any more non-shooters in the rotation. You forgot to include Amen (for future trade) and some 2nd round picks. All their assets or eff all the way off.
Nevermind. The Nets got their own pick back.I really prefer to keep Lauri and build around him, but the timelines just don't match up. Houston makes a lot if sense as a trade partner because they want to win now and have tradable assets including a 2025 pick swap with the Nets.
R&E or new deal at FA are the only ways to get a deal Lauri would accept.Yeah... sign first. What are the rules for a S&T?
Do you get traded in a Lauri trade (you're a Finn right)?R&E or new deal at FA are the only ways to get a deal Lauri would accept.
S&T deals cant be renegotiated, so they max at 140% annual raises which puts the total contract value too low.
That is also a reason why there wont be no grandfather offers and this whole convo is futile.
If Jazz R&E Lauri in July or very early August, then he would become trade elibible before February DL and this conversation would then be much more legit.
