Good news to wake up to. Trade him for an expiring and with the amnesty still available we could be major players in free agency.

Who would you target in free agency? I agree that it is a great position to be in but is there anyone worth getting this summer outside of DWill or Howard?

The tragedy is that he has a terrible game and he is not the target. I think that had Earl not really put his stamp on the game when he defended Favors Harris' performance would have been less egregious. I mean hell, players do have bad games and sometimes that costs the team a win. It wasn't just Harris firing away in the first half missing shots. There was a long stretch where it seemed all they wanted to do was shoot from the outside and not even try to get in the lane and do what they do best.

Yes, I too think it could be smart to trade Harris... but not just due to this game, but to due to how he plays the game and his skill set. His worth is more mercurial than any other player on the Jazz team right now.

All this said, love me some Earl, Tinsley has showed he can still ball, but if they do find a suitor for Harris, they will still want to pick up a 3rd PG for the simple fact that Earl and Jamaal aren't young bucks and minutes need to be watched to avoid injury. DAMN I LOVE EARL!

If we decide to go a different direction could Earl and Tinsley be our PGs? Seems like we might be fine...
That was my first thought when I heard about Tinsley. If he could behave and prove he still had game, Watson and Tinsley sure make Harris expendable.

The Jazz will always carry 3 PG's. They will definitely be trying to acquire a PG for Harris.

I am not sure what he could get us in a trade at this point. I just can't imagine a team willing to part with real assets for him. but who knows.

and i don't think the Jazz necessarily need to trade for a PG. the coaching staff has stated they think Burks can handle some PG duties. If watson and tinsley stay healthy, we may not need a third PG immediately

Could the Jazz combine Harris and the TPE we got for the Okur trade for someone better?

We need Calderon to pass his physical so he can be ready for the next game.
I think we should start Watson in the beginning, and work Calderon into the rotation.
I'm glad he's on our team now, and think he is a Corbin type of player who plays Corbin ball.
Good job KOC.

I like it. Calderon has one more year after this year and it is for $10,561,983. That is the only thing that I don't like. I trust that KOC knows what he is doing.

Doubtful that Minnesota wants to bring on Harris for Ridnour, so it would need to be multi-team unless other players were included. It would be interesting to have Earl and Ridnour in that they were formerly back court competitors in Seattle before the Sonic Boom...

I really think the most logical move to make is Harris for Calderon. Calderon's not the savior for the PG position, but he's a much better fit for this team. He's a pass first PG that is a much better shooter than Harris. While Calderon would be an improvement on offense, he'd also be a downgrade on defense.

Here's a Canadian article from two days ago which discusses this trade proposal:

https://blogs.canada.com/2012/01/18/is-devin-harris-an-option-for-toronto/

Toronto may not want our garbage, but the fact the Harris is an expiring may help Utah swing a deal that may not usually seem very likely. If Toronto is looking to move in a another direction, they may take Utah up on the offer since the Jazz would be willing to eat another year of Calderon's 10 million salary. If Toronto was even mildly interested, I'd hope KOC would heavily pursue this. Some may flame me for this, but I think adding a PG like Calderon makes the Jazz a legit top 3 team in the west.
