Jazz didn't draft Prince. Atlanta told them to pick him for them. If the Jazz keep the pick we have no idea who they actually take.

For a one year rental of Davis, I wouldn't do it. Beside the fact that AD turned out to be a Diva asking out of NO. Even with Zion coming into town, he does not want to stay. So how would we get him to stay in SLC?

Houston is on the decline with their roster getting older? They are trying to get rid of CP3 which will make them worse and help us beat them. What happens if GS loses KD or Thompson? They will be beatable. Jazz can compete and defeat all the other Western teams. Jazz need to get two more shooters. A PG and SF or PF that can create their own shot and shoot behind the 3 pt line.

Half the bird was pining for Vesely. Any time there’s perceived athleticism, the excitement flies. Saer Sene, Jeremy Evans, Dennis Schröder, Exum, etc. Being able to play helps, too.

Kemba says Charlotte is his priority now. Hmmmm... does it have anything to do with that extra $80M?

Gonna put the pressure on Charlotte to give him the super duper max... get that bag Kemba.

Kemba staying hurts us. It takes away a big fish but also leaves the mega cap space having teams with so much money to spend. Kemba getting a max somewhere else would have dwindled that pot.

Kemba staying only helps us if Charlotte wants to trade with us (Favors, Grayson, whatever).

Yes and no... he was never coming here... if they are staring at a huge tax bill some salary relief and middling assets might make a trade work.

I understand the macro effect idea but it really doesn’t function that way most of the time. Like Tobias ain’t deciding to say no because another team has a slot now. I think his suitors now are the same group regardless of what happens.

I don’t see it as having a material effect either way.

They gave Zeller like 60M. Kupchek gave mosgov and deng like 150M. They might do it and move him later like Clips did with Blake.

If Kemba says he will stay for supermax and they cheap out it’s a tough narrative to sell to the fans. It’s a really ****** spot for them... they have no good options at this point.

I listened to the podcast. He said he didn’t know if they’d offer a fully guaranteed 5th year. I think they have to or he bounces. Same with Tobias. I’m not sure what they were trying to do by paying 150% of the price they should have for Tobias.

I would think so but they should have traded him last year and pivoted... writing been on the wall and they haven’t been able to bring themselves to go full rebuild.

Think it comes back to a similar point you made about how it'd be a tough narrative for the Hornets to sell if they decide to skimp out on giving Kemba the supermax. Would be a tough narrative to sell trading your all star in the lead up to the ASG being held in your own city too.

If Kemba goes to the Lakers or NY, the Lakers are no longer a max space team and NY only has 1 spot left. By staying in Charlotte, two major markets have a max spot available.

I don't think he was coming to us, but almost any team in the NBA with 2019 max space is more enticing than Salt Lake City. Kemba leaving helps us.

As for Charlotte, they are in cap hell for a year but they are quite clear after Biyombo, Marvin, MKG, and others expire in summer 2020.

18 months ago he was on the block... could have moved him prior to the season starting. How many people from Charlotte attended the all star game? An exhibition game is nothing to make roster shaping decisions around.
