YOUTUBE: Classic Jerry Sloan Confrontations

So it doesn't matter if Deron had something to do with Sloan's departure now, because Sloan was "old".
I'm not saying he forced him out AT ALL. My sentence wasn't terribly clear on that point. I skimmed the rest of your post and it seems it starts from the premise that I believe Deron pushed him out, but I don't. I thought the rest of the body of my post would make that clear.

But I'm done. If you want to carry on with this, feel free.

That's semantic. It's almost legalese.

Do you think he stood up for Sloan? Wanted him to stay?

Well, that's all that pic was about. Deron's BS tonight was just compounding.

And again, why does Sloan's age matter at all if it wasn't a competition?

I see it as rather inescapable. Deron made a powerplay, a powerplay that management gave into by becoming involved in his confrontations with Sloan.

I also think there's great circumstantial evidence that Deron was breaking plays, and ignoring Sloan's calls.

Didn't he get into it with Bennett Salvatore once?
What good coach hasn't gotten into it with Benny? Maybe this weekend I'll start trying to compile some clips of technicals/ejections.

I do have some reservation about posting those things youtube because I don't want it to come off to casual nba fans that Jerry was just some whiner with a temper when Jazz fans know how much lager his impact on the game was.

One clip I just came across I'll be sure to post is one time Sloan was so upset over a call that he ran to the end of the bench and sat down in the last seat next to Jacque Vaughn, and Jacque just sat there with this frightened look on his face and wouldn't make eye-contact with Jerry. Maybe Ty can try it that move since there figures to be plenty of empty seats along the bench.

That was by far the crappiest playoffs that I could remember under Stockton and Malone. Cwebb started it the round before by blowing up Stockton. Then the whole Portland fiasco. The flash from the camera just as Bruss shot the FT. Then Pippen nailing a devastating 3. Malone surrounded by Sabonis, Brian Grant, and Sheed.

That sucked.

Then the next year was pretty horrible, losing to Michael Finley and the Mavs in the first round. Calvin Booth destroyed us.

Wasn't the B-Russ free throw one from 2000? I remember someone was also shanking the basket or something. That was Horny's last game. :/

I remember it well because Utah fell down 2-0, came back to Salt Lake, lost game 3 and avoided a sweep on a Sunday playoff game in probably the least-attended playoff home game I've ever seen in Utah.

Then, in game 5, all what you laid out happened.

Damn for some reason the sound isn't working on any of those, even if I independently search for them on youtube and play them. Oh well still fun watching them.

Sorry about that, I knew it was only a matter of time before David Stern sabotaged them.
Haha but they all seem to be working now, though.
