Zach Lowe: Exum Might Not Be the PG Answer Next Season

I like it. But there's not a chance in hell Dante doesn't start next year. He will be 100% from his ACL, he will be a lot stronger, and he will have another years worth of experience and learning, if not play under his belt. He will be shockingly good.

He will likely not be 100%.

I hope he's 100%, but they've been super cautious with Burks, Favors and Rudy this year. I could see Mack being in the starting lineup at the start of the season and then easing into the 2nd PG spot when Dante shakes off the rust and starts coming on. I agree that if he's healthy, he's the starter. Extremely excited for what next year will bring us.

Will read this in a bit but I suspect just by looking at the title, this is some low-key fear-mongering, aimed at an audience he's been writing good articles for.

I wonder if he mentions that if this committee of PG's doesn't work next year there's a 99% chance they'll take a PG in the 2017 draft, in what figures to be easily the best draft class for PG's since '09...

By the time next season starts it'll be what .. 14 months since his surgery ? I think he'll be a little patchy the first month or two but then will explode the second half of the year

I think he'll really help Rudy, i think his passing and court vision will help Rudy get those 3-4 easy buckets that will help him not be an offensive liability. Don't remember Rudy dropping anywhere near as many of his passes.

Man if Exum is anything close to that SL game we'll be competing for homecourt next year ..

Jesus he looked so good in this game. Night and day better than at any point in his rookie campaign.
Yep and the best plays from that game are actually the plays when he missed the shot but got fouled.

Love to see him attack like a man rather than cower like a bitch

Completely agree. Those drives and that beast of a post-up attempt just seconds into the game get my **** hard. Add in a stroke that looks much smoother and natural and less mechanical and this kid could be sweet.

If we can land a kickass pick in the 1st round this year, extend Gobert at far cheaper than we ever thought 2-3 months ago, have our players develop a little more (Hood and Hayward at a better clip from three may be my biggest want), and then also extend Favors in late October at a slightly better rate than we had hoped, then everything will be falling into place just as we hoped.
