Zach Lowe says the Jazz will trade for... Get ready Infection

Exum, Bradley, protected 1st.

salary matching and we can’t trade a first for a while... it’s not a good package when you consider Exum’s value is not positive and Bradley has almost no value.

That's really terrible haul for Sabonis though, Jazz would need to include something more valuable.

Sabonis is on rookie scale still. We'd take back an $8MM contract. But yeah, not sure what else we can offer. The issue appears to be that Indiana and Sabonis are way off on an extension.

He'd be perfect for us. He can play the 4 or 5. He's a 6'11" lefty with some range, able to pick-and-pop, able to attack close-outs with the dribble. Near-elite rebounder. We'd be set. Our toughness, defense and rebounding would be elite again. Plus he can play a legit 5-out.

He can play both 5 and 4. If Jazz go small he is perfect 5 for that.... if they go big he can play 4 just fine.

He's like Favors, except he's not as long, and he's way more skilled offensively. He's easily a 15/10 guy in our system.

Favors was better shot blocker but Sabonis is way tougher, better rebounder, better passer and more efficient scorer. What he lacks in wingspan he compensates with craftiness around the basket.

Favors and Sabonis aren’t alike... they are both tall humans.

we have zero shot at landing Sabonis... none. I’m guessing if anything gets done it will be the Celtics. Maybe the Kings... could see them panic trading Buddy or maybe Bogie. Not a great fit with Bagley but it’s the Kings... they do stuff.

If we had Sabonis with John and Karl, we’d have some rings. If we had Sabonis with our current squad, we’d get some rings.

Unfortunately, our odds of landing Sabonis now are about the same as landing Sabonis then. Well, perhaps they’re a little higher, but still low.

He's a starting-caliber PF/C who can play next to Rudy. That's how they're similar.

I wouldn't say our chances are great, but they're not zero. I'm a bit worried about the Blazers though...except they're not going to pay him either once they get Nurkic back.

We don’t get any upgrades in a “roster balancing” trade unless Exum turns into positive value.

I’d 100% rather have Royce play every single hypothetical minute and that Morris would play.

If Exum were healthy, playing elite defense, and scoring about 12ppg, then Indiana would be interested. Exum and Oladipo could be a very pesky defensive duo.

Indiana has Brogdon, Oladipo, Lamb, TJ Warren and Turner. It's not clear exactly what they're looking for. They just aren't going to pay him, and won't match him in free agency. This smells a lot like the Enes Kanter situation in Utah a few years back. Utah only got a 1st-rd pick from OKC in that deal, the one they flipped to Minny for Rubio.

Lamb and Warren are definitely bench pieces. Brogdon can roam 1-3. They could build an elite defense in that conference.

I don't think Lamb signed with Indy to come off the bench. And Warren has been Indy's best player in pre-season. He's replacing Bogdanovic in their line-up. I think they'd like an athletic defensive wing.

Lowe did mentioned that same package for Robert Covington though. One first rounder may get it done.
