Hood a better player than Hayward

Hood essentially played 3 seasons of college. He is probably as good as he is going to get.

Yeah. Malone and Stockton played 4 years each, and didn't improve after their rookie years either. Not to mention the hundreds of other players who stayed in College too long to ever improve their games at the NBA level.

Untrue.
Maybe you are being sarcastic..... or just a lunatic

The lack of passion, expresiviness, aggresiviness. How many times do opponents have to beat him up every time he attacks the rim until he turns back and confronts them? In this league you hold your ground, build some respect around you about being a guy that won't put up with any bullying on the court. This has been more noticeable for me this year, as if he's been well scouted in these regards. It also doesn't help in getting many foul calls that he has well deserved. I mean get a T for once in your life, make a commitment one game to get a T!

Exact opposite to me. The fact that Hayward takes hits and gets beat up and doesnt cry like a baby shows his toughness. He picks his battles with the refs and doesnt complain every time he gets hit. He is not the Cousins of our team. No ref respects a player that complains every call or pouts and tries to pick fights with everyone who shoves him. Hayward is a professional who sometimes gets frustrated but tries his best to keep playing hard even if that calls are not going his way.

I want a player who gets hit hard gets up and runs back on defense not a player who complains to the ref or tries to get in fights and act like a fake tough guy.

Hayward fights hard that is not one of his flaws. His inconsistent shooting is one flaw. His giving up on the season and not putting effort (last year and maybe this year although I think that is the coaching staff this year telling him to back off and let the other players do their thing). His sloppy turnovers, often gets trapped and jumps leaving him with no options.

Please tell me this wouldn't have made you turn back and punch that worthless piece of **** in the face...

Punching him is what you would do, that is not what a pro player should do. He should play harder and make shots. No reason to punch him except to hurt your team.

Maybe you should look into Sac as a team. You would really like Cousins. He gets mad a lot and throws fits at players and refs. Really helped him win a lot of games.

IF Hayward is as good as he is and he's not really trying then I think this team is in great shape.

I really like what I see from Hood. He could be be an Alan Houston type player (I think someone already mentioned that). I think in the end the biggest differentiator will be who plays the most consistently. Otherwise I can see them being very similar players.

Hayward shouldn't of, though I couldn't blame him if he did.

What the Jazz needed was a guy like Booker to go out on the next play and absolutely flagrant the hell out of West.

Hood isnt close to Hayward now, but he is promising. I think both will very similar in skill level when its all said and done. But now its just projecting. Hayward played at an all star level this year.
Rodney turned a lot of heads when he was healthy. Cant wait for next year!

Yup. I think this is an even handed post.

BUMP...With Gordon playing less time. Hood on the court more Jazz are still winning. Coincident? I think not. Plus, chalk more game ending misses by Hayward in the last couple of games from free throws. To his other misses that the Jazz have to scramble to put up a put back after his shot. I know he is ranked third person to be in love with on our current team following DL, and Snyder.

Would u trade Hood for Jabari?

We have a really good 4 in Favs, and good backups.
We need good wings, and Hood seems to be on pace to possibly be a great one.

I would not trade Hood for Jabari based purely on team need.

My second reason that is not needed, is that I'm not sure Jabari is capable of playing D, and Coach S wants this team playing D.
Even if we needed a 4, I'm not sure I go with Jabari over Hood. Probably not.

*this info is incomplete though because of not seeing either of them play a full season yet.

When I looked at comps this is who I thought of... Think Alan was a bit better shooter, but think Hood is better off the bounce.
