Quin Snyder: Intense Perfectionist

I guess I probably should have put this in the news section, but I wanted to use it as an opportunity to say I can't remember the last time I was this impressed with a coach. I signed on with the Jazz late, when Cotton signed. (Utah my favorite state outside of home, so not hard rooting for a team from there.). I am really impressed by a guy who seems so centered, and comfortable in his own skin. Intense but calm. Demanding, but makes every player feel confident. It's a stressful job, putting it mildly, but he handles that position as well as anyone I've seen in recent years.

The only stuff in the newz section is what the site automatically pulls in the from the Web. This is exactly where this belongs.

I agree, I am very high on Snyder and can't wait to see what he does with this team next year. Hopefully COY worthy things.

To go with your "perfectionist" label he actually runs drills he calls "perfects" in practice. Where they run a set/play over and over and over till it is perfect, Spacing, effort, cuts, communication, passing, defense...

Very happy with DL's choice.

In my eyes, Snyder has the potential to be the next Sloan that will have Popovich achievements. He will win COY in a few years. He will be a HoF'er. I will happily bump the posts I make in these times in jazzfanz and twitter after all these years pass.

I think that the biggest thing I get out of Snyder is that it's clear he actually really ENJOYS coaching. Sometimes with Ty he just didn't look like he wanted to be there.

I don't blame him. You have to be a Jazz fan and observe close enough to realize the reasons for failure before the break. I would like to hear his comments about the other half's Jazz and say "I don't believe we've met before."

Sounds like he hate them relentlessly.

It's a terrible nickname. Coach Q describes him a million times better.

Either that or Psycho Killer.

I always believed he was going to be a good coach. But I still had doubts at the beginning. Until the famous... "Wake The **** Up" game. After that, I wanted to have Quin babies of my own. Haven't seen a coach get that intense since Sloan.

The more I see and hear about Snyder the more I like him. Love how he started the very first team meeting by telling everyone to sit the **** down. Hahaha

Welcome to the board. But optimism is strictly prohibited. To be truly accepted here, you MUST find something to complain about. Even if the Jazz were to go 82-0, you could complain about the food at the arena, the Jazz dancers, the lack of physical fitness by the Jazz ushers, etc.
