They are capable of bothering shots and it's a pressure situation don't be stupid and presume making a shot in games is as easy as in practice with no one defending u

Please don't be rude K. He asks a question. I don't think he says it's the same. If he can hitninnprqctice now and Locke is impress probably means he can't do it before. Learn to be nice.

As far as GIF reaction....

Depending on how fast/slow he shoots, yeah.

Nobody will try though, unless he starts hitting them regularly. Teams will be slacking off daring him to make that shot. It he can hit it with any consistency, it will keep defenses honest at least.

When was I rude? I was trying to have a rational conversation and because I disagree I'm being rude? Don't be a drama queen

You're understating this. If he hits that shot with consistency it will be disastrous for the competition.

Why would they slack off? I'm not sure people are worried he's going to drive around to the hoop.

When he tweets about some nice low post moves and a deadly 6' hook shot then I'll get excited. I really fail to see what Rudy shooting a 15 footer does for us. If he is shooting that shot then guys like Hayward aren't. If I'm the other coach I give him that shot all night.

Right now if our wings get into that zone either the big greets them and they lob it to Rudy or the big stays with Rudy and they give up an open shot to a good shooter. Rudy puts so much pressure on the rim I don't see why we would want to negate that by having him float around 15 feet out unguarded.

You miss the point. It isn't about us setting him up as some huge 15' spot shooter. It is about being able to consistently hit the shot when he is left open, causing disarray among the opposing team's offense, which opens things up for others. Suddenly the Jazz twin towers can run a high-low game which is another level of depth to their game together, and we are that much more dangerous not just on defense.

I get that. I don't see that as ever being dangerous. Like I said if I'm the other coach I let Rudy have that even if he hits it @~40%. If the Jazz think they can beat me with Gobert from 15 feet than I would let them try. More defensive boards for my squad.

If he is able to consistently hit the shot when he is left wide open, uncontested, it'll be a hell of a lot higher than 40% in those situations. In which case, yeah, the other team is going to want to guard him. Which would immediately address all of our spacing concerns.
