Following 2016 potential draftees

Unlikely to end up relevant to these draft threads but, If yall like underdogs, and shooters check out this Division III player Michigan has transferring in.

They're saying he's breaking Stauskas' practice 3pt shooting records... They do this drill where you aim to hit 50 3's in 5 minutes, Stauskas record was in the high 70's and Robinson already hit 83.

Apparently he was 5'7" freshman year of HS, and now stands 6'8".

Damion Lee, 5th year Sr. at Louisville (by way of Drexel) is someone I could see the Jazz burning one of their many 2nd round picks on.

Quick release shooter, reminds me of Robert Covington. 75 schools contacted him to transfer.

I wouldn't pimp him. Nice player but meh.

I just don't see him in in the 2nd round anywhere, which seems like an oversight.. He's 70th in DX's Juniors rankings(last updated 2 months ago).. that's not right..

Seems like Louisville will put him in a position to score a lot of points, I'm not sure if they have better options.

Lee appears capable of playing efficiently on a high volume of shots. which is a surefire way to build some hype in the 2nd round.

89% from the line on 7.3 attempts per is damn impressive..

I know. Still.

I would maybe greater pimp Mulder.

I definitely like Mulder better, no question. I view him as a bit of an enigma. who knows how his playing time and role will play out. I'd have to peg him for 2 years at UK right now.

He's got the combination of athleticism, skills and BBIQ that I really like to see from wings though.

I actually think Mulder has a chance at the first round, but that's probably pretty outlandish to say at this point being that he's probably still decently skinny.

I like his chances at rebounding well, taking good shots and finishing/drawing fouls in transition. I also think he's gonna posterize a few defenders, maybe even in halfcourt offense making cuts off the ball.

BL: I think Mulder is better than Lee and he also plays for a coach that will get him drafted vs... Not.

Louisville now has a total of 4 players in the NBA (Dieng, Russ Smith, Harrell and Rozier). I'd contend that UL will probably produce another 4 NBA players in the next 3 seasons though. Which could end up being of some concern to this thread(and maybe even the Jazz scouting dept).. ya never know.

Their offense can't possibly be as hard to watch as last season, the main reason I think so is infact Damion Lee. Last year in the games Blackshear wasn't hot, which was most of them, It was like they were chucking the ball at the rim and hoping for a foul call or rebound, and that was the offense.

Solid recruiting class, no imminent 1st rounders, they've got some projects that could pan out though;

If I had to pick one of their incoming freshman who could possibly do better than many expect, It'd be Donovan Mitchell. A 6'3", explosive, powerfully built PG, who could possibly take to the Rozier role quicker than expected. I do think Donovan's HS Teammate, Jalen Adams (UConn) is a better NBA prospect though..

DX has Chinau Onuwaku in the first round, not sure I'm buying that - he's kinda Vernon Macklin-esque. He's worth keeping an eye on though. Sophomore thats younger than most incoming freshman (see Deng Adel)

Incoming freshman Raymond Spalding, seems to play very much like former UL 1st round pick, (overdrafted/overrated), Earl Clark - 6'9", with a 7'1" wingspan, he's versatile, gets blocks and steals, grabs rebounds and shows pretty good ball-skills. Spalding isn't strong like Clark was though, could end up an interesting project nonetheless.

The best Egyptian prospect I've ever seen(only other one i can remember is Omar Sanhan), Anas Mahmoud, is probably worth keeping an eye on, probably not for this 2016 draft though, unless something drastic happens. He's got a nice combination of size(7'1, wingspan in the vicinity of 7'4", has skill(soft touch) and timing, He's also a lefty.

Incoming freshman Deng Adel is probably the teams biggest x-factor, he's old for the class and will turn 20 in February. An oversized but not gigantic SF (6'10 wingspan) will certainly make a name for himself if he can continue to improve his outside shot and ball-skills, he's got a solid mid-range game, can slash and he's got a good motor. He's only been playing ball a few years, which is pretty impressive when ya see his skillset.

Here's footage of 3 of Jalen Adams final games in HS. An interesting PG prospect, who as of right now is flying under the radar. He's old for the class, born in '95 just a few months after Dante. I forgot to put him, Donovan Mitchell and Grayson Allen in my list of PG's/Combo's.

6'3" maybe 6'4" in shoes with a 6'8" wingspan, he's damn explosive too.

Adams, Steven Enoch and 5th year senior transfer Sterling Gibbs are really underrated gets for UConn. Adams probably should've been a McDonalds All-American.

First post in here. Kind of daunting to have to learn a whole slew of new prospects lol.

This mock is surely better than the list of probable lottery picks Jeff Goodman wrote the other day. Which included Stephen Zimmerman(UNLV) 4th overall and Daniel Hamilton(UConn) 13th, a severe reach based on Hamiltons streaky play last season. Goodman did have Rabb 10th, which is much more sensible.

Interesting that Ford has Melo Trimble outside of the top-30 and Tyler Dorsey 30th and as a PG, with a blurb about his play for Team Greece.

Ford and Goodman both have Dragan Bender listed at SF, which i think is just insane, he's 6'11½ or 7' even and clearly looks like a PF IMO.

I take issue with placing Ivan Rabb 25th, thats the lowest I've seen him mocked by a good margin. I also think any mock with Egemen Guven in the first round is probably trying to save face on that particular subject, Guven was extremely underwhelming the few games I saw of him this summer. Also Guven is certainly taller than that listed 6'9" height.

Rabb also has reportedly added 12lbs of muscle at Cal already there's a pretty convincing before and after picture making the rounds.

Also Damien Jones, Sophomore Center from Vanderbilt, 15th in the mock, is listed at 6'10" when he measured 7' in shoes this summer. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk is closer to 6'8" than 6'6". And I'm pretty sure Grayson Allen (Duke) is 6'4" not 6'6".

Agree on Stone.

Rabb too low.
Pope too high.

Cliff Alexander 2.0 though? thats brutal. thats basically saying you think he's gonna fall like humpty dumpty.

The write-up on Stone is pretty terrible though IMO;

14) Diamond Stone COLLEGE: Maryland HT: 7-0 WT: 250 POS: C
Stone is a poor man's Jahlil Okafor. He should have a big year for Maryland. He's big and strong and has advanced low post skills offensively, but lacks the athleticism and defensive ability to be truly elite. In other drafts, that would land Stone somewhere in the top five, but as the NBA moves away from those types of bigs, he may slide into the late lottery.

Stone is listed at 7', He measured 7'0 without shoes for USA basketball last summer but that's almost certainly bogus. If he's grown a bit to 6'11" in shoes its a very, very good sign for his NBA prospects.

The issue is he's probably 6'9" without shoes which means he fits the profile of a backup C, more than any sort of starter. I'm definitely not sold on Stone, I was at first, long ago, but Henry Ellenson put him on blast.

If ya believe Stone is going to fizzle out in the NBA, I think a pretty spot on comparison is Jeremy Tyler.

It's bogus. I have seen Stone standing RIGHT next to WCS. He was AT ALEAST 2" shorter.
