Seriously, what would be the problem with getting rid of conferences in the playoffs? Rank teams 1-16 and have at it.
I'm doing my best to resist negging you for saying such a blasphemous thing about the Lakers (and the Knicks).Haha.. no... but in the near future when the Lakers and the Knicks make the playoffs it would be an exciting match-up!!!
I want this but I have heard that travel could be an issueSeriously, what would be the problem with getting rid of conferences in the playoffs? Rank teams 1-16 and have at it.
Yeah that's why restricting it to the playoffs would work because you play twice then you fly. There's plenty of rest time and it wouldn't favour one team over the other.I want this but I have heard that travel could be an issue
Says the guy who doesn't have to do it. A system like this could become an advantage for teams in the middle of the country who are less likely to have long trips every series. Lots of long flights can wreak havoc on your internal clock.Yeah that's why restricting it to the playoffs would work because you play twice then you fly. These day and age with charter flights it's very doable.

It's more comfortable with more space and easier flight schedules, but it is tiring nonetheless. I've traveled many different ways and my experience has been that when you do a lot it wears on you. Also, while the team gets to travel by charter there are a lot of other people who have to go back and forth in coach. The bottom line is that the logistics of numerous cross-country playoff series are no where near as simple as you're making them out to be.May be somebody who has flew charter before can chime in here about how comfortable it is and do you still get jet lags, etc? PKM? Moe?
More cross conference match ups in the playoffs = more fun = better ratings? Can someone explain what the actual problem with the current format is? The best team wins and that's bad?
