Would you trade Rodney Hood for Jabari Parker Staright?

IINM, Hack and NAOS are serving suspensions for necro bumping (trolling) and getting other infractions, which put both of them over the limit. They appealed, but the mods are both jury and executioner (just like Goodell) so the infractions and suspensions were upheld.

And the board - not surprisingly - has been a lot better the past several days. I think Hack's suspension runs through the 9th. NAOS, however, created an alt, but apparently not a clever one. He's been banned an additional two weeks.

He is banned currently.

I already know what he would say though. Jabari is in a bad situation... He is so young... he has way more potential... He is coming off an injury.

No way he admits he was wrong and eats crow. Not gonna happen

Parker is young and has them good basketball genes. I wouldn't count him out at all... Funny that yall think Hood can still improve but Jabari, nope he is a finish product
 
I bet Hood hopes yall draft Perry Ellis so then maybe he wont be the ugliest guy on the team..lol.. I got a friend little cousin who goes to Kansas and says Perry Ellis is every girls friend but wont be with him..lol
 
I am really liking Hood and love his play right now. But this debate is far far away from being over. Jabari is too young and too fresh off injury to evaluate and compare to an older Hood. Give it 5 years and see. Hell soonest is in three years, let's see if Jabari is putting up the numbers Hood is this season. Parker does work hard and is a focused kid. I'm not sure he will be a star but I am sure he will make something decent out of his NBA career.

Very well written post.. Rational basketball guy you are... I agree about Hood. He is going be a solid player for years to come but to label him a future star which a lot around here do is just crazy in my book

No I would not do this trade at all, ever. However, I don't discount Jabari's skill and potential. Everyone here was clamoring for him in the draft, the only thing that has changed is he had to sit out a year for injury. I think he'll be a lot better after this season and be more like the player people envisioned.

But again, I'd trade a heck of a lot of other pieces before I even remotely thought about Hood for Parker. Hood is ascending as one of the best players on the team and a go-to option. You don't just trade that away.

Hood is also a better fit with Gobert, Favors and Hayward. Not sure that Jabari fits as well (although he might at a lower weight playing the 3 position exclusively.)

Yes, Utah needs 3PT shooters. Hood is as pure as we could have hoped for. Gordon has also improved in that area. Hayward's rookie season was an outlier (low volume). He's now up to 5 attempts per game at a decent 36.4%. Rodney is almost a mirror image after a horrible start, with about the same percentage and just slightly more attempts per game. It will be interesting to see if Alec can maintain his nearly 39% 3PT shooting when he returns. And can Raul keep up his hot shooting?

I think Hood can (and should) average 40%+ on his 3's. That would put him in the top-10 among wings. Is that a star? Perhaps not. But it's definitely fringe all-star.

What differentiates Hood from most other 3-pt shooters is that not only can he get it off no matter how closely someone is guarding him but how far his range extends to shoot the shot without effort.

Why would I eat crow, or admit I'm wrong over one game?

Hood is a good player. I've never said he wasnt. But Jabari will be better. I guarantee it.

This Hood vs Jabari argument is going to look really silly in a couple years. I can not wait to rub this in. It's going to be glorious, but really dumb I have to even go through this with you guys. It's not like I'm the only one who sees it. It's just that some people in the JazzFanz bubble refuse to be intelligent and see what's really going on.
