Baton Rouge Police Killing a 37-year-old black man at point blank range

So do you think that the guy whose picture was plastered on the news last night as a possible suspect will be open-carrying in the future? He learned the hard way that carrying a gun around makes people assume you are involved. That must have been quite a shock when he realized he was being blamed for something he had not done.

I work in law enforcement, and today is a tragic day for everyone here. And they all keep doing their jobs.

Keep up the good job JazzGal, we're all behind you.

I'm just the money girl (accounting tech). Nothing dangerous about my job as I am surrounded by metal detectors and armed officers. I just hope each time I see my guys go out that I'll see them again tomorrow.

Yeah Im sure he will. I think he wanted to make a point that black man can carry a gun and not be a murder/dangerous person.

The Daily News is a ****ing cesspool of journalism. Seriously, have some respect for the ****ing family.

Well, I mean, at this point the video has already been seen by millions and the family wants justice. That being said, I imagine the family is fine with it if it contributes to their pursuit of justice. I mean, it looks pretty damning toward the officers.

I don't disagree with your other points about teachers and cops, but you diminish your own credibility by starting out with such an enormous overstatement.

As a teacher, I should point out that there's absolutely no correlation between how much teachers are paid in a particular jurisdiction in NA and how high the rates of teachers molesting kids are. So it's not as simple as to say that if you pay people less, they'll abuse their position more. I don't think the issue is police pay. At least not primarily.

That's cool man, mind me asking what subject and level you teach?

Last thing I thought was high school Social Studies and English Literature.

Ahh.. Ok... my social studies teacher in High School was Mr. McLeod... a really lovely & nice guy.

He was also our inter-school Tennis Team manager.... we never won anything cos he was casual, hence we were also casual... LOL

You want me to be ashamed of the truth an the obvious? Are they really oblivious to the message they are sending police an the fallout they cause? Can they really feel no guilt for contributing to a environment of hate?

We have a judicial system. We have Internal Affairs. Obama has sent in the feds. We do not need to foster a environment conducive to rioting an police shootings. Especially when we aready have clear evidence police were justified.

OK, my point was that your wild speculation about the posters you listed wanting police to be compromised and unable to do their jobs just makes you a pain in here. I'm sure it doesn't amount to that, just a concern that actual offenders, "bad cops" should be moved out of the ranks or tried according to the facts of the wrong they may have done.

What are you trying to say with this?

This country has a lot of work to do.

That tweet, declaring war on blacks and Obama, isn't from some Arkansas dumbass sexing it up with his underage sister. It's from a former congressman and current am radio star

If that's the type of rhetoric we can expect from our leaders then it's no wonder why so many people have so much pent up vitriol.

You said that one marginal NBA player is going to make more in a year than all of the teachers and police officers combined. That is laughably untrue.

It wasn't meant to be taken literally.
