Utah Jazz VS Portland Blazers -- Tue. Oct. 25th @8pm MDT

Dante wasn't benched in the fourth. He had to sit to bring in the group that played so well in the 3rd. Hood, Hill, Johnson, Diaw, Gobert. If we keep Exum in and take Diaw out, we're pretty small. I could see why the change was made.

Seriously. Tonight's game was awesome. I just hope that we get to watch the Jazz at full health for most of the season, especially in the playoffs. Crossing my fingers.

Not sure why people are upset Dante didn't play more; he was horrendous in the second quarter. Didn't look like an NBA player. Outside of his one drive -- which, granted, was pretty nice -- he didn't look that much better in the second half. Was getting destroyed on picks, and was indecisive and timid with the ball in his hands.

With that said, hard to be upset about the loss. Blazers were hot, Jazz were injured and on the road, but stayed with the Blazers until the end (more or less). Loved seeing the Jazz forcing Lillard to switch onto Joe Johnson. George Hill and Rodney were taking names from the tip as well. Looks like a good basketball team.

They are a bad matchup for us. I'd like to see us switch up PnR coverage every now and again. Dropping the big wasn't working.

We should have just doubled off of turner whenever he was in. I'd take a wide open three from him over contested Dame and CJ shots.

They truly aren't. We easily destroy this team if we meet them in the playoffs full-strength.

All in all encouraging game. Jazz had a three point lead with 4 minutes left. Without a couple starters and good bench player.

Hill missed a wide open three, clanked a horrid three off the backboard, and missed a mid range floater all in the last few minutes. Otherwise he was really good though.

JJ was a stud but I don't expect that from him each night.

Diaw sucked but he is much better than that.

Hood looked really good and even got to the line at a good rate in the first half.

Lyles needs to be a lot better than he was tonight. He will be, I'm not worried about him.

Exum was disappointing and suck to the bench mostly.

Gobert was quite good. He seems to go after every rebound on both ends. Love good attitude. Gets under guys skin.

As usual..... Jazz don't have a true star #1 option on their team who is as good as the opponents star (in this case lillard)
Jazz still need to acquire a star imo. They will be good this year and make the playoffs even without a star due to a good collection of talent on the team but it sure would be nice to have a go to guy to put the team on their back at the end of games when necessary. (I know Joe did that tonight but I don't think he will have very many games like last night throughout the rest of the season)

As good as Lillard was, I felt that Crabbe and Vonleh were the ones that made the biggest difference. I mean the bench points were 38-16. That's not ideal.
Good post.
Crabbe especially seemed to hurt us

When our bench becomes JJ, Burks, and Diaw that discrepancy will change. Damn I want us to get healthy soon.

The one positive is that our main players are now getting better. The injury bug is bound to hit a lot of teams through out the year.
If we can stay healthy after this, and have our stars back 100% we will have the advantage at points in the season.

If anything happens to any of the key Portland players they are in big trouble.

as much of a buzz kill this is having these injuries hit us now.....

better that this happens at the start of the season than the end.

We are all just so hyped to see this team at full strength now.

7 points
5 rebounds

That is what our PF's gave us tonight. Jesus Christ this game is on Lyles and Diaw.
Good call. And against a team that should give us some favorable matchups at that position too.

What the hell ... is this our ****ing motto??? I'm so sick of this crap.
You may be sick of it, and I am too, n but it's the truth.

Shelvin Mack was absolutely dreadful out there on defence. He can't guard SGs and I hope Quin realized it after last night

I've never like Mack. He is ok as a 3rd string in case of emergency type guy.
Withey is joining him on my **** list.

I really hope the experiment of playing him at SG is over. He should be confined to PG minutes and hopefully Burks + Joe take the rest of them at SG
