Following potential 2017 draftees...

Josh Jackson with a monster game today. I'd consider taking Ball over Fultz right now. I realize it's hard to compare because Ball is surrounded by so much more talent and much better coaching, but there is something about Ball - he has some Magic in him (yes, i capitalized Magic on purpose). just strikes me as a kid who can turn around a team. NC State sucks and it's making DS4's job very difficult - he's struggled in his last couple including today, but i just love watching that dude play basketball.

Didn't you say Bam Abdeyo was a clear top 3 pick too?

not sure if i said that, but i might have. he definitely has the measurables, strength and athleticism. i'm not liking his production - things don't come easy for him. early in the season, size/athleticism stand out - as the season progresses, for me production matters most. at this point, i definitely wouldn't take him top 3, perhaps not even top 10.

i will say this - if you don't change your mind over the course of a season, you probably aren't paying attention.

This was a super ugly game tho, first off Dennis Smith pulled himself out so those who harp on his effort defensively will certainly harp on that.... 2ndly Beejay Anya offered to fight a fan after the game. 3rdly Gottfried is a terrible coach and has assembled great talent but isn't putting them in the best positions to win.

Top-5's still;

Fultz
Jackson
Ball
DS4
Isaac

Well when it's all said and done what sorta careers do you think Markelle Fultz and Ball will have?

I think Fultz will have a great one, should be something along the lines of a consensus top 5 PG for a decent stretch of his career. Dont know if he ever becomes the best PG in the NBA though.

Ball is harder to say, I think he is the most team dependent of the top prospects. I don't think he is as good as Smith Jr in a vacuum.

Had bam in the top-10 at one point it wasn't for long but he can fool ya. I was always weary of his listed height and that he was a better longterm project than Jarrett Allen.

You think Fultz is going to take a few years to really hit full effectiveness? I think if he landed in lets say Sacramento he could put up the Tyreke 20-5-5 rookie season and run away with the ROY..

Ball is a game/franchise/culture changer unless he lands in some ****ty spot, the Lakers aren't really ideal IMO. he's sure to be a great compiler of stats, there's teams, mostly the ones desperate for a PG that he'd seamlessly fit. If he lands in Dallas the J Kidd comparisons will never end.

Sacramento isnt getting into the top 3, no way.

Like if Ball lands in Orlando, I think that would be awful for him (at least in the short term, but I'd guess long-term too if they kept the same GM who makes terrible personnel decisions). Vogel is a solid coach, but he is really mediocre when it comes to creativity on the offensive side of the ball. They also have no above average creators on that roster, so it would force him to have to do way too much on the ball or play off Elfrid Payton, who isn't very good.

Villanova Redshirt Fr. G Donte DiVichenzo is a better prospect than Josh Hart, lemme state that emphatically. He's a much better athlete, better defensive potential.

I'd definitely take him in the 2nd this year.

Kevin Huerter's carrying Maryland to this W.

I actually think the Lakers would be the ideal fit for Ball (other than Philly). Luke Walton would coach his style perfectly. Ball/Russell/Ingram is a great perimeter trio who can all handle, playmake for others, and shoot.

Yeah Ball needs the reigns immediately like in Dallas. Somewhere with a PG getting heavy minutes in his way is a nightmare scenario.

If Boston gets the 3rd pick and Fultz/Jackson are off the board, what do y'all think Boston does? BPA between Ball/Smith or fit w/ Issac/Tatum?

I disagree, I like Russell at the PG spot tho. If I'm the Lakers my top 3 is probably Fultz Jackson Isaac

How do you think his first four years go from an individual standpoint if that happens?

They'll work him into the rotation fast. I'd expect them to say "he was #1 on our board" and try to get him in the ROY race and use him in tandem with Thomas, Brown works next to them as does Crowder.

He fits well with those stashed players Zizic and Yabusele both are explosive finishers around the rim. Fits well next to Bradley, next to Smart and Rozier.. They're set. They'll get their $$'s worth out of him he's very low risk for them IMO.

He could get like 11-6 and 4rebs in his rookie years playing in all sorts of lineups off the bench at 25+ minutes and then keep getting better from there. He's also great insurance for if IT walks, then he runs the whole show.

I refuse to believe Ball will fall in this draft.. he's going top-3.

Kevin Huerter!!! Just hit a high difficulty 3 and ran back down the court with a huge smirk on his face. he's on fire..

This kid Cowan is really, really good, 5'10 and skinny tho, RAZOR SHARP super efficient..

Maryland (with the help of UA) really improved their recruiting. What a bunch of good 4*'s they landed in 2016.
