What's new

Dear Dennis

Exum sucks balls. I dont give a rats *** what excuses are made for him. He is so young. He should be in college right now. He got hurt. He doesn't get to play. He is Australian. Whatever. The dude sucks. Plays like a girl.
I feel like if exum was drafted by a different team you would be talking about how good he would be if he was in the right system, if he wasn't injured all of his second year, if he weren't so young, if he were given now minutes, etc etc.
Because he is a jazz player he sucks though.

What exact criteria did you use to determine Exum "sucks balls"? I'd love to know. How can you know he sucks based on a rookie season where he was 18 years old jumping from basically high school level basketball to the NBA and clearly not initially ready, and a second year this year where he's coming back from over a year off do to an ACL tear? He's still growing and improving by the month. It's far too soon to make a judgement on how good he is or isn't.

Case in point: Computer thinks Stanley Johnson is worth poaching from the Pistons despite him putting up worse stats than Exum without having the excuse of coming off an ACL surgery.

Jazz won 40 games last year. They're likely to improve by 8 - 10 games. Not bad in a competitive western conference. The Jazz need to make 1 or 2 prudent moves to reach a higher level. Acquiring DWill as a back-up PG for 10 - 15 mins/night doesn't quite qualify as one of those moves.

Regarding Exum, he's the same age as one-and-done players from the 2015 draft like D'Angelo Russel, and is a year younger than Kris Dunn, who isn't considered ready to be a lead PG. So should all those guys be written off? Exum has less playing experience than those guys. If he can put himself together physically and gain experience, he could be an impact player -- in the mold of a bigger (albeit slower) Tony Parker. Is it worth giving that up for a 32 year-old DWill who hasn't been healthy in years and is a FA at the end of the season?

No it's not lmao. You dont give up on players if you believe in them. If you have any reservations on that, look at what we did with Trey Burke. Our staff and FO obviously didnt see potential in him, so they cut ties and cut minutes. It's not like they are putting unwavering trust in every player they have ever liked. It just means they arent dumb and arent giving up on a talented kid just cuz he struggled through the first half after returning from ACL surgery.

Sometimes cutting ties is totally the right course if what your trained eye is telling you is that the player just isn't cutting it and can't. Ask Chuck Noll who swore that that was his biggest coaching mistake. Hanging on to the glory day Steelers players for far too long. While Exum isn't old, the philosophy still stands. You don't just hang on to a guy out of some misguided sense of pride. If you think the player just isn't what you need and won't be, move on.

I'm lol'ing so hard at all the knee-jerk reactions because the Jazz didn't make a deal. Last year we finished 9th in the West. This year we've jumped 4 or 5 spots (so far), we're finally seeing this young team come close to being fully healthy, and we have yet to see what we actually have in regards to seeing this team perform on a playoff stage. Knowing all of that, we're supposed to throw our hands up because DL didn't want to move any of these players?? That's just stupid.

By the way: Exum is going to be fine.

By the way Part II: Franklin used to be a pretty good poster until the end of last season when he started all that "I'm not a Jazz fan anymore, I'm looking for another team" ********. Dude, whether you're trolling or serious, sack up, put your money where your mouth is and move along.

Did you even read what I wrote? Dear god.

I clearly gave an example of where they cut ties with a guy early, on a lottery pick no less. Quin is known a player development coach, let him do his damn job you pansies.

I try to limit my reading of your material. It's toxic to one's soul.
