What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

limited his earning power?lmao he is going be paid millions and make millions during his career. Calpri is a salesman and that's it. He cant coach for a lick. Coaching isn't all about x and o but player development. He develops player. All the players that get drafted under Calpri would of been drafted had they not gone to college in the first place. How did Calpri do with the Harrison twins and their "earning power"? They would of been lottery picks out of high schools and are either even in the league? Daniel Orton another one. Calpri is a sorry *** coach

Your points are always heavily steeped in narrative bias. The fact of the matter is UK has scouting failures like everyone else. They've got humans doing the job right? They're not infallible.

People prefer to pretend like UK scouting staff is infallible, it fits their personal biased preferences... they get best recruits, every time, it's failsafe, no matter the year, no matter any variables - Death, Taxes and UK getting the best recruits... So all the failures are on the coach.. which is complete nonsense. It's narrative bias, and SCAPEGOATING...

Over and over again people jump to conclusions and just run with it, without ever thinking about what hard evidence there is to support it. It's a natural function of the brain, literally everyone does it, to try and rationalize something you don't have a full grasp on.

It's the same premise as why you've never seen an "ET" but you probably associate them with the features seen in this image

Cal didn't limit the twins earning power. If anything he actually limited Devin Bookers by putting him on the bench.. it was a case of seniority, which they more than earned..

Coach Cal provided all they could've asked for, as far as minutes and role were concerned. Same treatment Isaiah Briscoe's gotten this past season. Briscoe and the twins limited their own earning power, Is Coach Cal at fault for dudes not being as good as they were advertised? obviously not.. The one thing he could've done better in the case of the Twins was have them cut weight going into the Fr year, ultimately that would've probably made very little difference.

Now Miles Bridges could go higher in next years draft than this years, is that really going to pay off for him long-term tho? This means you're getting rookie scale $$ in your 4th year instead of a potentially bid up RFA contract.. this is also completely reliant on him staying injury free..

Any one else rooting that Philly jumps the lakers at number #3 to get the #3 pick then the Lakers have to give the 6ers the #4 pick?

Screws the Lakers and it screws the Balls (pun intened).

The 76ers have been so bad for so long it would be nice to finally see them catch a break. Could you imagine them getting Josh Jackson and malik Monk

Monk, Bayless
Jackson, stauskas, luwawu
Covington, Anderson
Simmons, Saric
Embiid, Okafor

Monk can play the point because simmons is the one really running the offense.

I assure you everyone else is. You can't be a jazz fan if you don't hate the Lakers.

The best part is that if they lose their pick this year then they lose their 2019 pick as well.

Bwahahahahaha

Last weekend I got to meet D'Shawn Shwartz from ColoradoSPrings who is going to be a Buffalo. Kid is very humble I mnust say and his game is smooth. He can use both hands effectively which is rare to see at the high school level. Has a good jumpshot and some bounce in his legs. Also great midrange game which is rare to see at the high school level also. Could be a future pro in couple years.
Colorado also has a 16 year old from Sengegal who just verbaled to Georgia Tech. Assane Diouf. His game has come along way this year from the start of the year to the end of the year his game improved a ton. 7foot1 and only 16 meaning he could grow some more. The thing that impresses me the most about this kid is he is a good passer and has a great feel for the game he just started playing. Before he arrived in the states he had never played on a hardwood floor, with refs, or a shot clock. So the improvement he made is just amazing. Next year will be a big year for him.

Must suck to be a Jazz fan and knowing the Lakers will most likely win another championship before the Jazz win their first. Lakers are a team who is not going be down at the bottom for long.

Ah yes the NBA 2k GM mode of thinking here. To many scorers on that team without a true point guard would never ever work. Sure it looks nice on paper but when it actually comes to the game it would never work. Im guessing, your thinking is Simmons would be the one who would run the point from his forward position right? Now defensively that would be a great team. All 5 players could switch on the pick and rolls and be fine but scoring would be the problem with this lineup even though their are scorers on the team

No doubt Calpri is a great recruiter. Hands down the best in the game but when it comes to x and o he is not very good. He is running a nba factory. Its a glorified AAU team at the college level. Now I personally don't like it because I think these kdis should be going to school for atleast 2 years but its within the rules and Calpri is just taking advantage of the one and done rule. Here is a question I got for you. If the one and done rule wasn't in place and kids could go directly to the league from high school would Calpri be winning as many games as he does now? The SEC is pretty whack when it comes to hoops. I think we can agree on this. Bascially it is Kentucky and Florida and UK is vastly superior to Florida

Also when it comes to Bridges you trying to penny pinch every dollar you can huh? The kid is going be paid and rich no matter what. Noah went back to school and he would of been number 1 pick. So he slide in the draft but in the long run it didn't matter much. He still got paid. He is set for life. He personally loved school and his family wasn't hurting for the money. I could see you saying they needed the money right away because they come from a poor family and that is totally true. Meyers LEonard is an example of someone who could of used another year of school but his family needed money badly(mother needed back surgery) so he jumped on the money.

Good move by him imo. He will be a candidate for POY next year and could end up moving up in the draft like Buddy Hield did.
Sometimes we have to remember that these are kids still and some are not ready to start career right at the age of 19. Some enjoy college and its important in their life development if you ask me. Some want to hang with friends still and go party but once you get to the nba it is all work. Basketball 24/7..

What do you think of Triers game? I like him and I think he would of been a good pickup for the Jazz like you mentioned. That we agree on

Allonzo Trier won't be testing the draft waters this year. He's going back to school.

Not exactly good news for the Jazz he could've been picked.

Rumors out of the Nike hoops summit have some question marks on hartenstein. Apparently he is very immature and questions about his upside.

Well this won't be the last we've heard of it, he is young too. Lets not forget that some of these college Freshman are mature because they're already 20 years old..

If thats the case, and its certainly believable, U could tell at the end of the hoops summit, he was wide open on the weakside, but just was calling for the ball like a little kid in class who raises his hand and waives it all around and is shaking in anticipation to get called.. I thought he was almost gonna start doing jumping jacks..

when teams finally get interviews and such, some awful report will float....

That will hurt his stock tho if true. These other players around him in the mocks, like Jarrett Allen, are not like that at-all...

It's not exactly bad for Utah if true. If he falls he could be a nice pickup to develop.

Here is chad fords take and he has him 29th on his big board

Hartenstein played at the Nike Hoop Summit last week and was perhaps the most impressive international player overall. He has size, he's bouncy and he's really aggressive on both ends of the floor.

His odd jumper and lack of length raised some concerns among scouts. He's clearly not ready for the NBA but might make a nice draft-and-stash prospect.

he also has justin jackson falling to 25 and I would love that. Jackson would be a great compliment to this roster and might be a nice replacement if the Jazz cant afford to re-sign hood

Sweet, so he's got Terrance Ferguson ahead of him or??

Does he still have Andrew Jones near the 1st rd?

Here's Andrew Jones older sister Alexis dropping a triple-double for Baylor, she was a senior this past season.

BTW that video I posted above is great. More coaches should do exactly that type of **** to help promote their players.
