What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

Keep an eye on Jonah Bolden in the 2nd round, Australian PF playing in Europe. He's more skilled than Jordan Bell as an energy big, and he shoots as confidently as DJ Wilson, giving him more upside. He could be a good back-up 4, and seems able to guard all over the floor. Plus athlete.

I always liked Jonah Bolden and this year he showed he's way better than I thought. He's also grown and is super athletic. He's alot like Christian Wood except even better. Would be great value.

I'd honestly consider trading both the picks up to secure him, that's a George Hill walking contingency plan tho. I wouldn't pay him anywhere near the max.

I don't blame Hill for trying to price gouge Utah or anyone either, this is gonna be his last big contract, he's on the wrong side of 30.. I'd say it's standard practice.. The markets booming.. Jazz basically asked for him to price gouge them when they traded a lotto pick for a rental, they;re invested beyond $$$, it's called sunken cost value(referring to the lotto pick not the $$$)..

The strength of the 2nd round is really in the PF position IMO.

When looking at draft prospects, ask yourself if they could really survive and contribute against the speed, length and athleticism of the Warriors. That's obviously the new standard. Guys like Mack, Diaw, Ingles, etc. who have average or below average athleticism struggled with the speed of the game last night. It's not related to the number of possessions the game had, but how fast the Warriors switched and corrected on defense to close the seams. A guy has to be quick and shifty in order to attack that defense. I was impressed by how well Hood adapted to the defense to create for himself, and I get the feeling that Exum has the potential to do that as well.

Also, after watching JJ Redick repeatedly get his shot blocked by Joe Ingles in the last series, I'm starting to question whether Luke Kennard will be able to get his shot off in a playoff environment without the team manufacturing a ton of space for him. Even Bradley Beal struggles against longer defenders. I'm not sure how well Luke will translate to this level.

JJ Redick can't run PNR

Kennard can

Completely different players

I am liking Johan bolden more and more. He is what the magic called a hybrid forward. I like him more then Lyles. I know that the jazz could get a second rounder for lyles in this years draft and I would target the magic

Think Cy mentioned this guy earlier on -- Rodions Kurucs should be on our short list at #24.

He's like a 6'8" version of Dario Saric. He can do just about everything--create at the top of the circle, make drives and finish, and shoot with a quick release. He's also quicker and more athletic than Saric (who now plays at the 4 usually), and he can get above the rim pretty easily. If he shoots well in workouts, teams will fall in love.

Different players, sure, but you think he can get a shot off consistently? Even off the pick-and-roll, at the speed of the game last night and against switching defenses, I'm not confident Luke would fare very well at all.

i would put kennard some where between clay thompson and JJ redick. I think he could get his shot off but it really depends on a lot of things.

What i found interesting was that JJ had some good looks but he just rushed his shot. I think ingles got in his head more then him not being able to get his shot off.

Not saying there's another Draymond Green in this draft, but Bolden has a bit of that potential. He has a real motor, athleticism, and he plays with hunger. It seems he can defend multiple positions.

I like kurucs a lot and he is on my short list but i think he will be gone by 24 and I like some other players "fit" better. It will be a fun draft

I'm starting to think Bolden may be the guy we need at #30...if he's even available. He's probably going to rise in workouts.

Get a guard or wing like Jackson/Diallo/Kurucs/Mitchell at #24, then Bolden at #30. Draft a back-up 5 like Motley or Bryant at #42.

That's a nice haul.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but Kuzma is staying in the draft

I just don't see him being a first rounder. I don't get it? All these border line guys every year that chose to leave early.
Dude. This is the first year under the new rule where rosters expand to 17 and two way contracts are happening. More players who are 2nd round picks/undrafted will get paid legitimate money now than ever before.

And Kuzma is a baller. Legit 1st round talent but probably will get looked pass because of age.
