Players I don't want on this team next season

Favors, Hill and Hood need four months off. All have talent, but ran on fumes this season.

Not sure Utah should want to pay his next contract. He should definitely be on the table when considering trades. I wouldn't go so far as to say I don't want him back, but I'd be nervous about having to match a big offer on him after next year.

People who don't want Hill and Ingles back are nuts. We will take a step back losing either one of those guys, let alone both.

One could argue that we already lost hill. Mack and exum both played more games than he did this year. Hill was supposed to be our leg up from having to play scrubs at the 1 but due to his constant injuries, our of situation was more or less the same as the last few years for much of the season.

Considering the role he plays, one could also argue that signing a pg at 80% of Hill's skill that plays 75 games would be an upgrade over a skilled player who can't stay healthy.

I don't think Mack will return. Exum and Neto need minutes.

It's not time to give up on Rodney however. He's averaged 12.4 ppg for his career. And he's on a rookie contract right now. That's very valuable to us. Unless he's part of a deal that gets us a star then you keep him and hope he becomes more consistent.

I thought Ingles was a lot better tonight. Much closer to his normal self. He made a lot of nice plays out there and played good D. I can roll with Stinky Joe. I worry about relying on Hood too much as a 3rd scorer. He's just so inconsistent. I'm sure he would be a major piece in any off-season trades for significant players. Either Hood or Dante, but Hood has shown more, so probably would be the young player teams would want in a trade.

I never want to see Mack play again. Nothing against him, but it has been so frustrating to watch him soak up as many minutes as he has while playing badly, and getting undeserved accolades from guys like Locke. I've never seen people more willing to explain away such an obvious thing (Exum should have been the backup and developed all year!) by accentuating all of Dante's flaws and ignoring Mack's warts and the context of where they are in their careers. So short-sighted.

Favors also needs to go if there is any question about his long term health. I don't think he's a key piece moving forward either way, but if he can have a healthy half season you could probably get more for him in a trade at the deadline as opposed to where he is now.Who knows, maybe he comes back and makes me eat those words next season. That would be awesome, but I think it is unlikely.

Finally, Alec is almost certainly going to be traded.

Big changes coming this off-season.

I don't want on the team: Dante Exum, George Hill, Boris Diaw, Sheldon Mack. That is all

Hayward had some really nice passes to Jingles for corner 3's. That is his best shot, we just havent been able to get a lot of them.

The problem in keeping Hill is our future cap. People realize losing Hill without a replacement is a step back. But long-term it may be the better cap move. Destroying our cap flexibility to keep Hill kills any chance we may have of winning a championship.

Hood missed 32 games this year. Unless he's struggling with a chronic injury right not that we don't know about, he shouldn't be gassed. He's just a very inconsistent player.

I like all our players.

Having said that I think Burks, Favors, Mack, Neto, Diaw, Withey and Hill all have reasonable to good chances to not be here next season.

Push for Hayward, hard. Re-sign Ingles. Then go after CP3. Use draft and trades to fill the holes.

Gobert/??
?/Lyles/Bolomboy
Hayward/JJ
Hood/Ingles
CP3/Exum

There are two first rounders.

A "Big 3" of Gobert, Hayward and CP3 would be huge. Especially with JJ, Hood, Exum and Ingles as supporting players. Need to fill in starting PF. If not CP3, Hill would still be great.

Any ideas?

Jazz w/ CP3 would elevate the Jazz to the 2nd best team in the NBA instantly, probably a 60-65 win team. Highly unlikely to happen, but it's nice to dream...
