What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

Some narratives are more compelling than others. Just remember that the NBA is a media spectacle, and if there's a franchise that's in disarray and needs a shot in the arm, it makes sense to help that franchise to keep the league as a whole healthy. In this case, I'd imagine the Lakers' pick is the only one that the league would want to assure. Nonetheless, there will be plausible deniability because the Lakers had around a 30% chance to get in the top 2.

So a Nuggets fan on another forum points out that this is the third year in a row that the Lakers have ended up with the #2 pick. The chances of getting in the top 3 three years in a row isn't terribly high.

My point is they still have to have money under the cap to sign a free agent. Like I said I think they should target westbrook next year. that means keeping 30 mil available under the cap. They re-sign the group of players they have. Could you imagine this team in 2 years

Westbrook, Russell
Jackson, Clarkson
Ingram, Deng
Randle, Nance
Mozgov, Zubac

That would be the most talent Westbrook has ever played with. 6'5" would be the shortest player on that team.

Hell Deng is still under contract. They only have 47 mil committed that summer

Umm, Westbrook is 6'3".

Here is today's lesson in modern media literacy. I dislike most if not all TV pundits, but this guy has a better sense of marketing than most. You may as well understand what the conversation in the media is...

...Not that Boston can trade for Hayward. So that's stupid.

Hamidou Diallo has worked out for the Bulls and is working out for the Bucks. Those teams pick 16 and 17.

Edit: He's also working out for the Nets, who have picks at 22 and 27.

As a jazz fan that is a really depressing take.

Cowherd knows nothing about basketball, dude is a hack.

Devin Robinson should be a rotation player if he adds a bit of strength and works on his defense. Could be a Jonathan Simmons-caliber player.

DX has him currently at 51. Don't be surprised if he goes 10-15 spots higher than that.

I actually like Colin Cowherd.

That Sporting News mock was missing Kurucs and Adebayo in the first round. But it shows that a quality player or two will drop.
