Favors agent says only way he stays long-term is if Hayward leaves

I'd always get the draft picks before I get the 8th and 9th man expiring rotational players. You can get those for free. Favors should net you a good return... or if he can't he's more valuable to us for this year than those players.

Barton is a sixth man candidate... not a replacement level guy. Arthur is a good 8th 9th man that fits and offers some position flexibility.

8th -9th rotational players aren't free. You can sign them but name me a guy who can do what Arthur does that will sign for one year 7M... same for Barton and his 3.5... we'd love to find the next cheap Crowder or Carroll but it's frickin hard to do. If we sign Hayward and Ingles we are capped out... add in Hill and we have even less flexibility. We don't have the cap space to pay known rotation players unless we lose some of our own.

I think you guys are underselling both of these players a bit... hell Barton had a better year than Hood did last year. He's only 1.5 older.

He has 2 more years with a player option for a 3rd. He is making 22+ million.

I was wondering is a deal like hood, Lyles and favors? Others they might be interested in are Burks or Neto.

I could see a trade going like love and shumpert for hood, favors, Lyles and burks.

Cleveland needs to fill out it's roster

Can you imagine Lyles on the cav's bench celebrating a Lebron dunk or Kyrie's magic? It might be entertaining enough for me to watch the Cavs again.

The agent worded his answer wrongly because he's making it sound like there's a problem with Gordon and Favors together. But what he's saying isn't news or wrong: Favors will want a max or near max. This is his big contract, especially considering how injury prone he is and the fact that utah got him on a cheapo deal the first time around, he should absolutely be going for the max. It might be his last major contract if his body doesn't improve.

Who in the **** would give him anywhere within 20 light years of the max if his body doesn't improve?

I just want it to be clear that I have much appreciated what Favs has done for us. I don't think he has been a malcontent at all, but the polar opposite. Seems like one of the first to break the Utah is a terrible place to play stereotype. I also think he has always worked hard. I'm sure he has been frustrated at times, but on the whole he has been the blue collar type that we have been spoiled with over the years. I really hope the poor guy can get right again for one last good contract.

Back to the trade talk. I'm not getting my hopes high. Expirings can be difficult to get assets for with the cap expanding like it has lately. If he stays I will enjoy him while I can.

Went to Game 1 of warriors... went super early and hung out by the tunnel. 7 players signed autographs for my 10 year old son... Favs stopped to sign his jersey. Rudy & Hay gave high fives and just ran back (they aren't jerks... they are at work and not obligated to stop).

I'm thankful he did that... seems like a fantastic guy. I don't see it working long-term either, but I will always root for and cheer the guy wherever his career takes him.

His agent worded it wrong because he made it sound like Favors is only going after 50 million dollars.

He said 300 million dollar front-court.

Rudy is on a 4 year/100 million contract

Hayward can sign a 5 year/150+ million contract

So that means he thinks Favors is getting a little less than 50 million.

It's such a shame he is so injury riddled.

Hes a nice guy, doesnt complain, and plays team ball.

I just cant even imagine him having an injury free year at this point.

No need to trade him now. We are going to get the best of Favors next year.
Lets take advantage of that.

Can't we offer 5-years $175M?
