Where is your draft thread?

Jazz don't have enough right now.
You do almost whatever it takes to get Hayward, Lillard, and Gobert on the Jazz. You take ALL of the bad contracts in need be. You pay luxury tax out the nose in the short term. At that point you have those 3 under contract for 4 years. You sort the other stuff out over the course of the next two seasons and add pieces when you can, and see if you can make lemonade out of those bad contracts.
Really? Cousins was traded for Buddy Hield and spare parts. Favors plus Exum plus anything plus we help their cap situation beats that by a mile. And the Blazers already have a perfect Lillard replacement: McCollum.
I agree with this. The only problem is that all of their bad contracts would be on the books for 3/4 yrs that we would have our big 3 locked up. We'd be relying on any remaining assets (likely few/none), any remaining draft picks (likely few/late 1st's, 2nd's), FA bargains/veterans looking for a ring (if even financially possible), & the other players acquired in the trade to round out the team.
Due to our lack of high-end assets, I would guess that the deal would have to be some along the lines of:
Hood/Exum/Favors/Lyles/24/30/future 1st(s) for Lillard + 2 of their bad contracts (Hill/Ingles/Diaw are gone, JJ/Burks may have to be moved to make it work financially).
I doubt we would come anywhere near the best offer (especially if there's an inner-divisional tax) if he were to actually be made available, but you do it without hesitation if it were possible.
Did you hear Locke yesterday say that he knows the ownership has given Dennis Lindsey a green light to go into the luxury tax to get Lillard. He quickly followed up by saying there is no-way portland is letting go of Lillard, but if it ever became a possibility Lindsey could do it.
Locke and and Spence Checketts spent a few moments trying to come up with a trade scenario, and quickly gave up. Jazz don't have enough right now.

Actually, I don't know if they WOULD get a better offer than that. I mean they COULD get a high draft pick this year from a bottom feeder this year, but none of those teams would be adding Lillard as a finishing piece. and won't mortgage the farm for one all star, especially if they are rebuilding during the Lebron, GSW era. Lillard is good, really good, but he is a secondary all-star, right about on Haywards level. Are the Lakers going to give up a ton of assets for him? They like their chances of snagging players in free agency. Washington and OKC? Already have top flight point guards. Boston? Has assets, but isn't going to sacrifice flexibility by taking on huge contracts, plus they already have IT. Anyone else with young talent going to give that up to add Lillard to show their stuff against the GSW? Possibly, but perhaps not.
Of course it could be the best offer and they would tell us to pound sand because we are in their division.
Hayward is a level 2 all star. Most are. Curry, LeBron, Durant are level 1 all stars. Lillard is a level 1.5, and on a team with Hayward and Gobert? He'd look even better.
